Anytime you add internal complexity to a mechanical device you only increase the rate of failure. Especially when the purpose of the mechanical device is to prevent operation.

The 22x series were designed in a specific manner and to function in a specific manner. I have a 228. Internally it's already more complex than my 1911's. It is an amazing piece of engineering and I love it. But the kalifornia sigs aren't brand new guns, but rather bastardized mutations. The additions had to be added into the gun, as it was never designed to be part of the gun.

In fact I'd bet most people remove the mag disconnect thing soon as they pick it up.

As I thought, just generalizations without any facts.

LCI and mag disconnect were designed by the same SIG engineers, went through the same SIG QS and wouldn't ever come out if it was prone for any issues.

Yeah, no evidence the newer Sigs have any issues in these areas, never mind "not as safe and reliable", that's ridiculous. That said, I'm happy my pre-roster 226 lacks all this stuff. Eff the idiots in Sacramento.

If you mind reading the original post, the argument was if CA Sigs are less reliable than their counterparts. It wasn't about the quality decline over the years. Again, if you really mind reading....
