cz 75 shadow with different serial #'s

I picked up my 75 shadow on monday, and got a phone call on Tuesday from my ffl saying they had two different serial #'s on their paperwork. When I got home last night I checked. The serial number on the barrel and slide are the same, but a different number on the frame. I e-mailed cz to find out if this is normal? I went to my ffl to get their paperwork taken care of, and looked at the two cz's they had in stock. Both had all three serial numbers matching. Has anyone else had this on one of their guns? And yes the gun is new.

Where did you buy your shadow? CZC? Or CZ USA? All CZs that I had before matches slide and frame. Although when replacing the slide, replacements have a number too unlike EAA, they dont number slides.

I'd call the seller too and ask for explanation. I believe it should match. Best case, they find the right #, worst case send back the whole gun?

    Goodluck!

Gun was purchased from oak hill guns. I will be sending them an email in the morning.

I sent oak hill guns and cz usa emails an out my issue. Got a response from both of them this morning. Oak hill guns claims the slide was probably switched at cz custom for 100% reliability. I doubt it considering it is a factory gun not a custom. CZ USA seemed to be concerned about what the two numbers are and where it was purchased. Looks like at least CZ is willing to try to relive my issue, as where oak hill guns is trying to pass the buck. I guess ill give cz custom a call and see what they have to say on the situation.

Update. E-mail from cz stated both serial numbered gun were sold to cz custom and to call them. Call cz custom and spoke with stewart around noon. He said both serial numbered guns were sold to oak hill gun. He said he would contact them and see if we could track down the other gun and retrieve the slide. He also said if not that there was really nothing they could do, and it wouldn't effect the functionality of the gun. As of now I still haven't heard back from either company. Am I out of line thinking this is BS? Im very upset with the entire situation and im getting the feeling this is going to go nowhere. Other issue that is bugging me is the slide to frame fit is ok at best, and the barrel to slide is again ok at best.

Technically, the only part that matters as far as legality is the frame. The numbers don't need to match at all. However, if fitting was done with all 3 parts together, then I'd want the matching set.

I think the most important part is that the barrel and slide match since the slide to frame fit isn't overly tight like lets say a custom 1911. I can see why you're a bit worried about it though. Good luck, let us know what you find.

I can understand yous concerns. Issues or not i would want the serials to match.

                  I can tell you this.

The slide to frame fit on the 75 shadow i picked up recently is looser than any CZ i have had before it. Not by allot, but noticeable. I do not think it is an issue and i have dismissed it.

The barrel to frame fit is on par with my other CZ's.

I am curious as to how well the pistol shoots?

I have a feeling if they can track down the other gun the owner will happily swap with you. Everyone wants matching numbers. Just relax and see what happens. You may be surprised. If they drag their feet then you can start kicking some butt.

I was basically told by stewart not to shoot the gun untill its figured out. I guess I'm jumping to conclusions. Time will tell. Thanks for the input.

My 75 Shadow is tight fitting fwiw, from CZ custom shop 2013 model though. If I were the OP I would return the gun, non-matching serial is definitely a no-go if I'm buying it from a dealer.

I had high expectations for this gun. I feel the same way about the serial #'s, but if I just return the gun im back at square one without a gun I've wanted for over a year. Plus im out the shipping both ways, transfer and dros SSE, and other fees that arn't refundable, around $100-$150. Why am I paying for someone else's f-up? believe me im trying not to post how i really feel about this situation and how i feel towards oak hill gun. Like others have said maybe the problem will work its way out. Im still hoping for the best
