Seriously dude? Why are you so entitled? Why should they bend the rules for you? If they bend them for you then they'll have to bend them for EVERYONE. Research on customer service? Go ahead. SA has great customer service. Just because a company doesn't want to rewrite their promotion details for YOU does NOT mean they have horrible customer service. I'll end it with this...

Generally, there are some good promotions during the summer. I know that Sig, S&W and Springfield have them. Other manufacturers might to. They repeat almost every year.

Next summer have some patience and time your purchases. I was looking for something to buy and decided on Springfield in a small way because of this promotion.

I got my 3 free mags and I'll keep them but honestly I probably won't use them.

OP should call as ask them when did they get the flyers? Two of my LGS had the promo on the window and counter for 2 months before it started. Same with Sig and Glock deals

I bought my 1911 from rock island back in april and they're having a rebate for $50 if purchased between 7/15/2014 and 10/15/2014. You think I have a chance?

I think the point of a promotion like this is to encourage people to buy their guns, not give bonuses to people who have already bought guns. If they start sending out free stuff to existing customers then as an owner of 3 Springfield pistols and a rifle I'd expect free stuff as well.

Instead of sending free stuff to existing customers like me and the OP, I think the point of the promo is to get people like us to buy another pistol. It's a great promo, and if it wasn't for that stupid 1-in-30 rule, I'd love to pick up a TRP, but I'm not going to go about whining about why I'm not getting free swag for the stuff I already own.

Read the other thread. Don't worry about 1-in-30 rule. Just go buy today and prove that you bought it. No kidding! Do not submit anything other than the 'grocery' receipt, and do online. Due to the 1-in-30 rule I should be receiving my free mags well before DROS commences, if SA continues to ship promptly.

As an manufacturer, you shouldn't penalize those customers for purchasing your product without the incentive of free gear. If I'd known about the upcoming promotion, I would have simply waited a few weeks and bought it then.

Either way, Springfield doesn't owe me anything. I think it's poor form that they aren't responding to emails, though.

Aren't those two statements contradictory. You aren't penalizing someone by withholding something that they aren't owed. Springfield doesn't even owe a duty to provide the free mags and mag holder to people who bought a Springfield during the promotion period. They reserved the right to end the program any time they want and its only while supplies last.

OP, life isn't fair, don't go around walking around like the whole world owes you something.

It's important to note that missing out a sale is not the same as the item you just purchased going on sale. There's many reasons to honor a promotion for someone who purchased before the promotion was announced. Which is why many retailers do just that.

Some here are acting like that's a completely foreign concept and is unimaginable. Meanwhile, you can walk into any large retailer and they will do just that.

Obviously guns are a bit different since gun sales are inherently final. But acting like this notion is unheard of and completely foreign, is a bit over the top in my opinion.

But again, I don't share the OPs anger and disgust. I think that's also over the top. I believe the reasonable stance is somewhere in the middle.

The middle I was referring to was between the OP being "disgusted" with Springfield and those in the thread acting like its unheard of that they would or should ever make an exception (all the poor analogies).

They aren't. I meant in general vs this specific instance.

You can read my other post regarding price adjustment, but regardless of what he's owed, he overpayed. What matters is how far in advance and what Springfield is willing or not willing to do about it.

If you purchased a gun and the next day they offered "buy one, get one free", it "feels" like you're being penalized for purchasing without an incentive. Meanwhile, all the people just purchasing to get a deal are rewarded. You might be a repeat customer, while those sales may be looking for a deal or to resell. People buying a product or more valuable that those buying a "sale" unless you can convert them.

On the other hand, regardless of how it "feels", Springfield has no obligation to make an exception. I think they should, for those that purchased within x days before the promotion. It's an easy way to keep customers happy and just good business.

if you want to be included on a special buy, you've got to participate within the given time period. if you ask before or after, you're asking for free stuff. no reason to get angry because the company doesn't give out free stuff that they otherwise sell at retail.

if you want free stuff, the folks in Smyrna love you long time; no need to buy nothing! free pens, free pins, decals, patches and even free calendars. sometimes free followers too. no free magazines!
