I have enough positive feed back to say I will be purchasing from him once my 30 days is up.

No worries. I paid in full for a pistol but the factory case of the gun was damaged during shipping so he return the pistol and asked for another one. Fortunately the gun was out of stock for about 2 months so Rick asked me if I want a refund or use the money for another gun. He hook me up with the first HK VP9 in his inventory. That's how I got my HK VP9 with virtually no effort from my end, I just said yes and paid the difference.

Wifey and I have bought a couple guns from him. Order online and pick up at store what else do you need to look at for. A glock 20 is a glock 20 is a glock 20.

A glock 20 is a glock 20, but would you accept a glock 20 that could possibly have defects? Scratches? I don't know about you, but I like to see the item I'm paying for. Would you order a Lamborghini and it arrives with dents would you accept it?

i will also vouch for Rick. I purchased a gun from him. I paid in full online then drove up there and did the paperwork. i was never worried and had zero issues. have some faith. understand that he is a small business and cannot afford to take the hit when someone changes their mind and backs out unlike a large corporate store.

And when I asked about it how I would go about looking at before purchase, he just said I would need to put a down payment or it would stay at his warehouse.
Certainly you can buy from whomever you want, but I don't think you're getting the picture about Placer Tactical. He's a tiny one man shop and he does NOT have a warehouse full of guns owned by Placer Tactical. He is referring to his distributor's warehouse where he knows the gun you want is for available - to be purchased by him to sell to you. He doesn't sit on a pile of physical inventory because he can't risk being stuck with them once SSE ends in December. He's even told me that AB 1964 might push him out of business because the vast majority of his sales are SSE.

I'll continue to give Rick my money.

I'm surprised he responded at 8:40 a.m. His normal opening time during the week is 3:00 p.m. He has another business that he runs during the day. As others have said, you have to understand that he's not like most LGS. He's a one man band and is SUPER busy as everyone is trying to get all their SSE's done before the end of the year.

Make sure you set up an appointment to start the DROS and pick up.

Qn: are the online prices including the SSE for non roster? Placer is quite a drive from Bay Area and price difference if SSE is 125 on top of shipped from out state would be about even money.

As others have said, he's a 1 man operation. If you know what you want & are ready to buy right now, talk to him. Best time to reach him is after 3pm. But if you're still window shopping or tire kicking, he's not set up for that. A retail store with a larger physical presence would better serve your needs in that case.

Almost all places have to order SSE stock when customers want it. They don't stock infinite inventory because a majority of casual shooters don't even know what sse is. Maybe that's not how the big shops in socal do it, but pretty common norcal. Most places get the shipment in like 2 days so not a big deal imo. Keeps prices down.
