Pretty bold statement considering you don't know me or my shop. I stock about 30 pistols at my store. Its not as much as some shops but it does normally consist of mostly SSE firearms. Some of which most shops don't have such as VP9's, Glock 42, FDE gen4 glocks, XDS's, Sig 320's, P238's, P938's, Shields, LCP's and others. Most guns on my website are either in my shop, some are at the warehouse ready to ship or already inbound.

Nobody has to put money down to just see a gun, only if they want to buy it and have me bring it in. A lot of shops utilize their distributor inventory as their own whether its guns, accessories, clothing or whatever else. Rarely will you ever find a store that will bring in anything you want without a monetary commitment, unless you are a repeat customer.

Is what I have done and even told the OP, 50% down and the balance at DROS or within 30 days, whichever comes first. This is basically a layaway and I don't normally do layaway, I just felt giving in this case. Again, it wasn't to just see a gun, if it is in my shop then anyone is free to look. If it is not in my shop, then I require payment to order it for a customer and normally require payment in full. If it is a gun that I normally stock and it is not in my store at the present time, I will bring it in on my own time unless a customer shows me the money, then I will bring it in faster.

After talking to Rick about how to move forward with purchasing some firearms, and all the vouches. I'am going to purchase multiple firearms.
Rick- I scheduled and appt to start the xds next Thursday or Friday, I think I called or emailed you to see if we can bump the day to Tuesday the 2nd? Can you confirm if that's available?

Tuesdays are my busiest days but I will make it work. I have customers scheduled to pick up at that time but I will fit you in.

"Nobody has to put money down to see a gun, only if they want to buy it and have me bring it in".... well, don't you have to "bring it in" so someone can see it? I'm confused.

I had them SSE my wife's handgun, and it was a great transaction. Friendly guy who seems to know his stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him.
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

Even Gallery of Guns requires a deposit when ordering from Gun Genie. I don't find it strange at all for FFL to ask for a deposit for a gun in the distributor warehouse, especially from a new customer.

I just made a purchase from Rick a HK vp9. My first purchase out here in Sac since I moved from the bay area. This guy rocks! A+ this guy has a new life long customer.

Him asking for half up front is actually very kind.

Not just him but all gun shops.
How many calls a day do you think they get from people asking for a specific model, and then promising to buy?
I assure you they get tons of calls from people asking them to order or set aside a specific model. Then they never show up. Happens all the time. Like almost on a daily basis.

I assure you if the gun showed up and you did not actually want it, or it had scratches he would refund your money.

Just bought a new pistol from Placer Tactical. Absolutely great experience, and I will give him first priority on ALL future purchases; I was that impressed.
