I had the same issue with my G19 and the 9mm3 followers fixed it for the most part; I still had random feeding problems with some brands of HP ammo. I found that Critical Defense seemed to work without issue. In the end I ended up selling the G19.
It's definitely specific to the G19 mags; my Gen 4 G17 has been flawless with the 2183 followers with any type of HP ammo.

I believe in the Automotive world these issues would have required a product recall. It's interesting that it doesn't happen in the firearms market.

I better get those. The 2183 was jam o matic on hollowpoints. 9mm3 jams on usually round 4-5 so with 5 or 6 left in the mag with hollowpoints. Will need to try 9mm6, at this point I can not recommend a neutered glock 19.

It's probably because of the 10 round magazines. Despite upgrading from the 2183 follow to the 9mm3 follower, the reduced capacity magazines have a whole host of issues for malfunctions.

I have been involved in two tests of Glock reduced capacity 10 rd G17/G19 mags using both the stock #2183-2 follower, as well as the Glock OEM #3 follower. In both cases the reduced capacity magazines did NOT prove reliable and had significantly higher malfunction rates than the standard capacity OEM Glock 17 & 15 rd magazines used as controls.

Perhaps that is why at my recent Glock Armorer re-certification class the Glock trainer specifically stated to NEVER use Glock 10 rd reduced capacity magazines for LE duty use, as they were not considered reliable enough...

I think the problem lies within the reduced capacity mags and not necessarily the follower (tho, that is definitely PART of the problem).

Took it out to the desert today and ran 100 rounds of the gold dots and the 20 or so HST's I had left in the 124 gr +P variety as well as 50 rounds of critical defense and experienced zero problems with any of them. Even mixing them up in the mags didn't make a difference. I am satisfied so far just need to order some more SD ammo at this point.

Glock sent the 9mm3 followers without any hassle to me and pretty quick actually. For the 9mm6 followers I didn't call Glock I ordered them thru Lone Wolf think it came to 25 and change for 6 shipped. Glockmeister and Rockyourglock also had them in stock as well. What a joke. I'm pretty frustrated by whats its taken to bring my G19 up to acceptable operating parameters (replacing extractors, ejectors, etc) and yet I still cant fire SD reliably. I'm not sure the money you save on a G19 versus something like a P229 is worth the issues you must address.

Glad you solved the problem. I had your original problem with my Gen 3 G19 and 10 rnd mags, but the 9mm3 followers fixed all of my problems. Mine cycles everything now. I am betting there are some minor differences with newer mags.

Hit the range on Saturday and the wife ran about 40 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +P JHP thru her Gen 4 Glock 19. Just about every mag had a failure to feed on the last round. The round was stuck horizontally on the feed ramp. Sometimes, it would chamber if we racked the slide, sometimes not (tap, rack n' assess-style).

Looks like a call to Glock is in order for some new followers. It currently has the 2183-2 followers.

I broke my glock 19 in with 200 rounds and it works fine with the hollow points I have.
It was acting up at first, but it functions good now. Just break it in.

Finally received the 9MM3 followers from Glock today. Replaced them in all four magazines and will provide a report once I've hit the range.

My wife's Glock has over 1,000 rounds thru it before we tried the JHP (Speer Gold Dot 124 Grain +P). Like clock-work, the last round jammed. Sometimes, trying to re-chamber the round will work, sometimes not.




You can see that it's jammed against the feed ramp. Will be calling Glock to see if they will send out some new followers (9mm 6).

Went to the range today with the new 9mm3 followers installed. I had no issues with Federal Premium HST rounds nor my usual Freedom Munitions FMJ rounds. Seems to be GTG for my G19.

Wife called Glock last week and they are sending 5 new followers. Should be here sometime this week.
