Not effective due to a few reasons:

Can you simultaneously have 2 sight pictures for two handguns?

spit times are slower shooting one handed

Little to no reloading options with both hands being used

I think it's a fair enough question. It's not easy, get yourself to some BLM or other spot and try...

This is how I see it from a musicians standpoint.

When you are learning to play, can you play the piano with one hand easier than with two? Absolutely.
What makes the difference between that first year of playing where you become proficient with two hands and a concert pianist? 20,000 + hours of practice with two hands.

Is it easier to shoot with 1 hand than two? Absolutely
After 200'000 rounds of ammo with two hands could you become very good, Accurate and efficient? Absolutely.

1 gun with twice the bullets will be faster rate of fire and more accurate.

I saw a guy double wield at the range once. He somehow ended up dropping his nice 1911 onto the ground. Luckily it landed on his range bag.

Mythbusters did a piece on it. It didn't go well.

Maybe for suppression fire. Accuracy for the regular Joe? Horrible waste of ammo. Just like bump firing, fun to do once or twice but that's about all its good for.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

Obviously we have a hater on our hands. It's fine, its a valid question that I appropriately responded to. Sharp Shooter, you always are out for me, unsure why.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I'll stick the to single wield for the time being....

SCE, I'm not a hater and I'm not out for you. I point out when you post stupid stuff (which, unfortunately is quite often) as do many others. I view it as a teaching moment but apparently you are unteachable. It's a lame question which you admitted yourself in your first post. I was only agreeing with you.

Effective or not? I know this might sound like a lame question but I've seriously been thinking, would it be better to have one pistol, or have two rallying off rounds at the same time. Thoughts?
Do you tie your own shoes? Man you ask the silliest questions with your threads.

There are tons of youtube videos disproving double wielding. Even Mythbusters did it on one of their episodes.
