FWIW, as of 6-20-06 at 4:00PM, the Duarte Walmart is still carrying ammo, and looks fairly well stocked.

Originally posted by Technical TedI was in the Milpitas Walmart last week. Bought a couple of boxes of WWB 45 gr .223 Remington.
FWIW The kid behind the counter told me they were being restocked with the inventory of the stores that stopped carrying ammo. Also mentioned that they may stop carrying ammo in a few months.
I was in Mtn. View today and they had the best inventory of ammo I've seen in awhile. Probably the same story as Milpitas.
Good info. I might have to pick up another dozen boxes.Comment

At the Wallyworld in Martinez, I was told that the store is slowly phasing out firearms related items on top of halting ammo sales. The guy at the counter said something about a county ordinance...
Oh well, it looks I'll have to go to Big 5 for their Estate shotgun ammo...
Who knows Walmart might have a firesale on their remaining Leupold scopes!

YA, there is one in Sunnyvale, Don't remember seeing anything firearm related........"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong,

I was at the Brea Walmart yesterday.
They still have ammo behind the counter, but they are in the process of moving all the departments around inside the store. The camping stuff used to be near the firearms and fishing stuff, it was moved. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole sporting goods department gets moved with or w/o the ammo counter.
I waited by the ammo counter for nearl 20 minutes waiting to buy ammo, even asked the nearest tire department clerk to get somebody over to sell to me, no deal. I left without buying and remember why I detest Walmart.Comment

Ya, I know they Merged, Never seen anything related even when it was sportsmart, They must have been hidden away somewhere.Originally posted by Technical TedThe Sports Authority in Sunnyvale used to be a Sports Mart before the merger. Haven't sold firearms or accessories there since shortly after they opened the mid 90's when they had a a couple of shotguns and low end rifles in a rack.
Same goes for the Milpitas store.
There is a Big-5 Across the Street."To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong,

Fwiw, the Fairfield Wal-Mart still sells ammo, including WWB value packs. Dang, it's _really_ well hidden behind tall trees and hedges with no signage or addresses visible from the street. You really have to look for it to find it. Off Hwy 12, 300 Chadbourne Road at Busch Dr. Right across the street from the Bud brewery in the only small forest of landscaped trees in the area.... : )
Fyi, another recent find is Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff (formerly Guns & Gear) in Vacaville, www.gunsfishing.com, at their new location at 197 Butcher Rd., just a few minutes off I-80 at Adobe Rd. They have a good stock of ammo, including decent prices on 9mm FMJ @ $6.97/box and .45 @ $10.97. I believe the brands were Independence (CCI) and Blazer Brass. Also has an indoor range on site.Comment

By the count of this thread, a lot of us depended on Wal Mart for our ammo. Wal Mart sure hires smart people to make important decisions.
Over eight thousand people have peeked at this thread. Probably safe to say that most buy, or used to buy ammo form Wal Mart. Stupid Stupid Wal Mart.
