I like how they look but I opted out of getting one for my gen 4.

For a Gen 3 glock, definitely grip tape and a plug!

The one thing that didnt bother me about the frame was the gap. Had Craigy over at Glockworx do a grip reduction, stipple and installed the fulcrum trigger but I left the gap in the frame. The G23 I picked up a few months back has a plug and recoil buffer and after reading this thread and giving it some thought I have removed the plug.

So if anyone in the SFV wants a gently used butt plug for their glock ill just leave it out on the curb...pm me for the intersection.

This thing is snappy so I dont care if it works or not, its staying in till I have the time to develop a less snappy load for it.

          It acts as a funnel.

Robert Vogel uses one, so does a few other professional shooters.

          Others don't use it.

How does a $5 part turn into a 2 page poo flinging debate?

I received a free one an run it in a G19. Haven't clocked my speed on a timer, but it seems to help my reloading speed by just a tad, since I can sort of use it as a guide. Not worried about debris as I keep up on maintenance in a regular basis and my house isn't a sandbox.

            WTB used AK MFER.

              To answer the question:
In a competitive sense, it's arguable that it 'might' aid you in a reload. But the reality is that if you're relying on that little piece of plastic, you have bigger issues to worry about than trying to get a faster reload in. I qualified Master in IDPA and I classified A in Production using a G34. I ran one in my G34 but it's never been an accessory that has made any difference what so ever. IMO, it's harmless to have one. But at the same time, I also think it's pretty useless. But you know what they say, "the heart wants what the heart wants.."

Shasta, look up in earlier replies you will find the answer.

003 thanks for the link, never seen a Seattle plug.
I know. What I'm saying is that maybe a G17 needs one, but a G19 does not.

Because this is Calguns: where people can't tolerate anyone who does anything differently from them.

As said, it's not a really big deal either way. I have a few Glocks, some have them, some don't. They do help a little in getting a mag funneled in.

I think its personal opinion. I have seen cracked frames that were stock and I have seen cracked frames from modifications. I dont see how a plastic plug is going to cause a frame to crack more than say a full brass magwell? And I know guys that run magwells with many many many thousands of rounds that have had no issues.

Like I said its personal preference.

                          End discussion????
