    Gen 3 vs. Gen 4?

I know the Gen 4's are off roster but besides being able to change the back straps and having a different texture on the grip, is there any other difference?

Also, as a carry gun, would or could there be any legal issues with an SSE firearm if there ever was a reason to use it? Please let me know your opinions. Thanks in advance. Looking at the G26 model in particular.

There's the dual recoil spring assembly as well.

        For a Glock 26...

        Just get the Gen 3.

Only difference will be the multiple backstraps and different frame texture (Gen uses RTF1 and Gen 4 uses RTF3).

You also get an extra mag with the gen 4. Should be no legal problems with gen 4.

It's pretty much same if you use SSE converted gun for home defense. If you are ok using SSE gun at home, you should be ok with using it in CCW situation. Nobody yet tried it in the court. Personally, I don't think it's illegal, however financially it might cost you more to prove it.

... or buy from someone who converted it back from SSE

You can also reverse the magazine release, so the button is on the right side of the frame. But, if you do, only Gen 4 mags will work in that configuration.

Sub-compacts still only come with 2 mags for the Gen4s.

I have both. Not worth the extra cost for gen 4. Trust me.

Only depends on if the adjustable backstrap is worth ~$100 to you.

Lots of discussion recently about CCW and SSE gun and the consensus is that it's fine to do so. Individual IAs can make the own restrictions though. Might be worth a phone call.

Depends on the size of your hand. gen 3 30sf is just a little big for my hand.

Thanks to all for chiming in. With my initial concerns, and along with the post responses, it seems to me it probably isn't worth getting the gen 4. Not enough reasons to go that way, especially not knowing for sure if it could cause grief if ever having to go to court. Have a great weekend.
