Awesome, congrats! I wanted a scorpion and regretfully got a Les Baer UTC that I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be. Enjoy it, Sigs are the best.

Ya that scorpion is looking really slick. Bad news for my bank account. Man I can't imagine what I'd do if I was already married. Gotta get this all done first
So I took the grips off. Just a tiny tiny bit of oil in some spots.Comment

You don't have to remove the grips to clean everytime or the first time. Usually I just pull a rag through it but that area doesn't get much dirt. You can remove the grips just for curiosity sake. Always good to know how to detail strip a 1911. Normal gun cleaning solvents shouldn't hurt the wood.Do I look like I'm ready for homework?Comment

Ah, so Sig did change it, I stand corrected. You would've replaced the MIM one if you had it. It really sucks.Didn't notice it until now haha thanks.. But actually it doesn't bother me so that's good
Yes she does. I'm very happy with it
Thank you
Haha no but it is a Sig!
Kimber is next.
Well actually the free Sig 1911-22 is next but the Kimber after that.
Don't tell me to do that hahaha. I bought too much factory and now I reload and bought too many components so I'm set for a long time.
Thanks warhammer
I definitely waited too long! Looking forward to see what you pick up.
Well I didn't change it that's for sure. Manufacture date on the box says January 21st, 2014. That was just a few weeks ago!

Yeah you don't have to take off the grips every time when you clean. I'd do it every so often though when you do a complete rub down of the gun. Every so often I'll rub my whole Sig down with Ballistol.Comment

Beautiful choice. Holsters are a bit limited for the Sig slide and rail, but very cool.

Wilson Mags in Sig SSS
I have the same Sig SSS and it will not function with Wilson 47d's. I guess it doesn't like the poly follower.
Somewhat weird as all my 1911s like 47d's.
I recall reading something along the lines of not allowing the round to chamber too quickly.

Once you go 1911 you never go back

Congrats. Very nice.NRA Life Member since 1990
They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Sig 1911 SSS Mags
I decided to go with 7 round Metal Forms and 8 Round Tripps. I've had no issues with those mags.
Other 1911's I have:
Springer Trophy Match
Springer TRP Full Rail
Les Baer Premier II
Les Bear Thunder Ranch
Dan Wesson PM7
Ed Brown Executive Target
These six 1911 work with every magazine I've tried. Only the Sig is magazine sensitive.
I also have a 1942 Colt 1911A1, but that thing never gets fired. It's just a piece of art now.

I'm using the 2 oem mags and 3 chip mccormicks power mags. However on the mccormicks, I replaced the followers with the tripp research hybrid followers because I've read that the star followers tend to slam forward on the last round hitting the frame. I read that this is only an issue with ally framed 1911s, but I'd rather not have anything scuff the frame if it doesn't need to. All of my mags work great for me, but I've not tried the 47Ds.Comment
