I recall reading something along the lines of not allowing the round to chamber too quickly.

I was going over many 1911's and I was set on a Kimber Eclipse Custom ii but was waiting for a clean one to pop up and then this Sig BOGO sale came up and I couldn't pass. I'll still get the Kimber, but this was a good last minute adjustment to my gun acquisition plan

One word of caution, when I first got mine and shot a few hundred rounds, the spring guide became loose. You can actually unscrew the shaft from the face of mine. If yours is the same, I'd suggest either replacing it or using Loctite. Mine ALMOST became completely separated and I can't imagine what a loose part inside the frame while cycling would do.

I had the non rail stainless and rail nitron. Great 1911s and both were very very accurate out the box. Congrats!!

I was going to write about upgrading the crappy slide release that sig ships with their guns but from the picture it looks as if they've finally switched to something better.

Congratulations! I only wish we had dealers participating in the BOGO event in the Northern Bay Area.

That looks aftermarket to me. Mine was MIM and I replaced it because it was a pain to get back in for reassembly to the 10-8 one. It matches the stainless perfectly instead of the yellowish MIM part.

Didn't notice it until now haha thanks.. But actually it doesn't bother me so that's good

                            Kimber is next.
Well actually the free Sig 1911-22 is next but the Kimber after that.

Don't tell me to do that hahaha. I bought too much factory and now I reload and bought too many components so I'm set for a long time.

Well I didn't change it that's for sure. Manufacture date on the box says January 21st, 2014. That was just a few weeks ago!

I just finished the first dis-assembly for cleaning and lube.

Should I remove the grips and clean underneath the first time? Every time?

If not to clean, then to avoid contact with solvents?

I actually like my Sig Scorpion 1911 much better than my Kimber Tactical II. In fact I recently sold the Kimber. The Kimber had a better trigger, but overall the Sig just seems more solid.
