why own a gun you can't shoot ?

If its no longer safe to shoot, it belongs in a museum or the dump. If its still safe to shoot, SHOOT IT !

I did swap out a few commonly broken parts on my Luger so if they broke I still have the matching serial number parts and I shoot it regularly with the replacement parts, but even if I had not done that I would still shoot it.

Why own it if you can't use it ?

          Why own gold or art?

Collectible firearms are investments that you can enjoy admiring the craftsmanship of and studying their engineering, plus they could be used for defense if needed as well as be passed upon to future generations as heirlooms.

Because there are plenty other guns to shoot. LNIB old school Colts are very valuable to collectors.
