    Colt vs Springfield Armory

Well I got the itch for another 1911. I want something simple, parkerized and without adjustable sights. I narrowed it down to a Colt XSE or a Springfield Loaded. The Sig 1911 is nice and I plan on getting the railed TacOps later. But for now it's down to these two and the CA roster is a non-factor. So which one Calgunners?

I would do the Colt this time and the Springer next.

What do you have already 1911 wise?

I've owned a Sig 1911, RIA, and Ruger SR1911. The only 1911 I have now is a Les Baer SRP.

Get the XSE if you like sharp edges out of the box, I vote SA

I say SA. The Springers are tighter fitted than the colts. Plus the CS is top notch with SA.

I forgot Colt has those sharp edges. Do they still have them or they dehorned a bit?

I don't have a lot of experience with colt, but i shot someone else s who had a lot of work done to it, like frame tightening, trigger job, a new finish among other things and i thought it was nice.. still like my loaded more although i would like to get it finished in the army kote

SA. No question. And, yes, I own both.

I vote for the SA - basically because of the whole 70 vs 80 series debate.

Not sure about the current Colts, but my XSE that I sold needed to be dehorned

Springfield. I wasn't impressed at all with the colts I've seen at shows and shops.

If you are looking at a Springfield Loaded, and a Sig Rail down the road. I would honestly save up for this..
