Sorry, not sorry.
🎺

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt! -
I won't support any company that deals in ivory. I just can reconcile the death of such a rare and beautiful animal to produce some tiny bit of bling on my pistol. Just seems gross to me.I'll buck the trend of VZ grips and suggest grips from www.thefinergrain.com or from www.esmeralda.cc. My 1911's wear grips from these two.
Get VZ's - I have a billion 1911's and no beautiful animals had to be brutally destroyed to make em.Last edited by Uglyd; 09-29-2013, 10:48 PM.sigpicComment

Go with G10 grips. I went with the Wilson Combat starburst style G10's, but VZ makes fantastic G10's at a better price than WC. Spend the extra coin for grips that really "grip" and look great too.Comment

If they had some texture, I'd buy another RIA just to put a set of the pinup Hawaiian girls on.
I must admit, you folks have great taste. I haven't seen a bad looking grip yet.sigpic

Those look slippery. Cool, but I have a feeling my gun would pop right out of my meaty, sweaty hands.
EDIT: the smooth ones. The textured ones might work. Anyone have these grips?sigpic

My jailed 1911 is an RIA so no shame from me. I like the looks of those Hogue grips. Did you have to replace the screws for them to fit?sigpic

OH! you have a RIA in jail...
one thing that you might want to watch out for when looking for grips, RIA uses a funky ambidextrous safety (if you got one with the ambidextrous that is) I know that VZ is now offering an option to cut for the RIA safety though I am unsure about others.
it is nothing major - or rather it is nothing major for a Dremel
Also those are just some of the many options of grip screws that fit 1911sComment

Simonich Gunners- I tossed (well, sold) my VZ's after I installed these on my 1911. You will LOVE them.

No,they are VZ screws I just liked the look of. These Hogues replace the mainspring housing also to form a mag well. They come in a bunch of different colors if green isn't your thing. It all dropped right in for me,although I have heard of fitting problems for some with MSH replacement. Btw,I LOVE my RIA. I sold the pictured SIG a month after I bought it...lol
