1911 Grips

I really like VZ's but they are pricey. They are made in the US so that makes it a bit easier for me to justify the cost. Watch around the 3-day holidays they often have sales (Veterans day coming up soon).
I have some Cylinders & Slides reddish/brown checkered grips in my SA Loaded SS that look & fit good that I got from Midway USA and they cost less that the VZ's. Midway has a good selection of grips so you might want to check them out. Good luck.

I surprised no one has asked what you got yet. So, what did you get and what color?

Nothing "special" for my first 1911 but I'm damn proud. I know it isn't a Sig or Springfield but I'll still have it for the rest of my life.

I decided on the non-rail edition of the RIA because of its weight and balance.

lol that is the same one I just picked up. It was between the gi or practical and tactical because it had upgrades already. And the fact that the front sights are dovetail

ERGO makes a rubber with a flat bottom for magwells. They also make a polymer based material which I prefer. They're thinner than regular grips but you don't need new screws or bushings. Just use the same hardware your gun comes with. They cost about $15 to $20. Sig uses the polymer grips on their XO and TacOps models.

I only have a couple 1911's but they are outfit with a few different varieties of VZ Grips. They are like Baskin Robbins.

Man I know how you feel. I purchased the VZ Operator II Black/Gray grips for mine. I got the Slim line version so they are thiner but if you do decide to purchase thin grips make sure to purchase slim bushings as well.

I think you need to shoot it a bunch first before deciding on changing things up. That being said, I like finger grips and a rubbery tack to my grips, so I like the Pachmayer American Classics for their look but the Hogue Wraparounds for useage

OP find the cheapest pair of grips you can & learn to love them.
whatever you do don't buy VZ grips, if you heed this advice you wallet will love you...
I have 2 sets of VZ operator 2s, a set of red/black 320s, green/black ETCs, the carbon fiber ones and 4 sets of the green/black linen 320 (I liked these so much I put them on everything)
not to mention the ones that I have on my CZ & Hi-Power...
