I've had a few glocks, and a few HK's. All have been extremely reliable and equally nice to shoot, but the moment I picked up the HK45, I knew I had the ultimate combat 45. It just absolutely fits. So after holding it I did a little research, and came across this.

The whole article is a good read, but 50,000 rounds with one stoppage, and I think mainly because he broke the gun down and may have not put it together altogether correctly sold me. I've been looking for an ultimate combat 45 for a long time, and I would bet my life on this gun.

I carry a Sig Blackwater Tactical, but that's because I prefer 21 rounds on the ready with 60 more on the belt opposed to 11 ready with 30 more on the belt.

      THIS!!

Glock and HK are NOT equally in reliability and durability. HK is far more advance and the data speaks for itself.

I don't personally own a Glock. I have fired and have been around numerous Glock models. I own a HK45C. I'm going to say it depends on the user; however, from my observation and experience, the Glocks I have seen are not as reliable as MY HK45C. Additionally, I watched a "over the beach" test on Glocks vs HK45 I think it was---and...no...the Glock CANNOT do everything a HK can---whether or not you need the capability of over the beach or not---the statement that Glock can do what HK does is inaccurate.

I am in the military, so I use what the f-is given to me. I don't really care about the fan boy non-sense. However, I've seen two clown groups go at it back and forth about "1911s" (What is a 1911 anyways, everyone and their mom makes a 1911) and "Glocks" and the simple fact of the matter is while each has their own perks---I've seen both fail miserably numerous times.

The Glock is probably more reliable than MOST of the 1911s I've seen---I'd say I'm most annoyed with the 1911 fanboys, simply because I've seen too many go down, and I get sick of the excuses---I'm sorry, but if you have to make excuses for YOUR FIREARM, you're mentally inept.

That being said, I don't like everything about HKs---but I am legitimately confident that it will fire---and fire---and fire---and fire---over---and over and over again---out of the box.

Own/shot both. All HK's feel better to me than GLOCKS, but I shoot GLOCKS better thank HK's. That being said, I stayed with the GLOCK platform.

          WTB used AK MFER.

I picked up an HK USP9C last year on my birthday. Very nice...smooth shooting and felt reeeealy good in my hand. The quality is definitely there. The thing is though, it had some flex in the trigger, and it wasn't all that "compact"...the gun was comparable in mass to my Glock 19 but the barrel was closer to the length of a 26...bore axis seemed high. Controls added yet more bulk. I really tried, but couldn't fall in love. After 6 months I sold the HK and got a TRP and eventually another Glock. HK is not for everyone, I guess.

I started out with a full-size USP and bought a compact later as a CCW pistol. In that role it served me well for quite a few years. I like the ergonomics, especially the mag release. Concealability was OK and the USPc is still one of the most accurate handguns I own.

At the same time (2000) I made a very bad experience with a Glock 27 that -in conjunction with an outright arrogant Glock Customer service - made me loose interest in the Austrian combat tupperware for more than seven years.

In 2008 I was teaching for a larger group and most of the other instructors used Glocks - that made me take another look. The Glock 19 worked well for me and concealed a lot better than the HK. In addition to that I liked not having to deal with either disengaging the safety or going the crunch-n-ticker way of DA/SA operation.

Ultimately, the Glock became my favorite handgun over the HK. Two additional factors came into play: the USPc is chambered in .40 and is a lot snappier and switching to a 9mm would have been very expensive, especially since I wanted to set things up with the same number of mags I have for the USPc. One can buy two Glocks with a full set of mags (15+) for the price of one HK setup.

We get one of these every couple of months now. We should implement a new Rule..... No more VS threads! Or better yet, create a new sub-forum strictly for VS threads.

I have a Glock 30sf that is fun to shoot and glad I have it, but I love my HK USP compact 9mm.Got it slightly used so for same price as a Glock and I have every bit of confidence that HK will go bang every time with anything I put into it. Those steep feed ramps make it impossible for a round not to chamber. Favorite part is can go cocked and locked or DA/SA- huge benefit in design in my opinion. And despite what others sometimes say about the SA trigger on USP, I find it very smooth.

If I had to pick one of the two and price isn't a factor, I get a HK. I have both but my HK makes me look much better at the range

If cost is a factor, I'd get a Glock as it is a solid gun but not as fun as the HK. I've heard good things about Springfield XDs so check that out as they are in the same price range as the Glocks.

I own both, but prefer the USP compact over the similar sized Glock. Nothing wrong with the Glocks, HKs just fit my hand better.
