The cool thing about a HK USP/P30/HK45 is that you can have the best of both worlds.

Want to be able to carry in Condition 1? DA/SA with safety.

Want a DA trigger with no safety? Go find a Light LEM/LEM trigger and swap it in. The reset can be strange at first (especially to a 1911 and Glock shooter) but I had fun and was very accurate with followup shots with my buddy's P30L Light LEM

You can also get a block off plate to convert to variant 9 to eliminate the decocking function if you want to carry cocked and locked without worrying about decocking the pistol from riding the thumb safety

My first handgun was a USP .40 in the mid 90's and developed multiple failure to feed and stovepipes after 2,000 rounds. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I sold it to a shop with full disclosure and went the Glock route. After 15 years of owning about a dozen Glocks with a sprinkle of Les Baer, Sig P226R, M&P's and now an XDs 9mm if I had to stick to one platform it would be my Gen 4 Glocks. I've shot over 40,000+ rounds with only a handful of malfunctions and/or the infamous ejection issue which I corrected. When I'm at a buddies shop playing with practically every gun out there, I can respect the durability and precision of the H&K handguns but actually shooting them I don't personally enjoy doing. YMMV

I agree with Voltguy-- I have a Gen 3 Glock 19 and will be picking up an HK 45C in 10 days. Life is short with too many great guns out there to shoot and own.

You must have permanent slide scars! Wouldn't mind meeting you and letting you run some rounds through my new P30...TLG and co. made me do it!

Haha, thank goodness I've only been bitten a handful of times, no pun intended. And yes I want to try your P30,you can try my new XDs 9.

The H&K is a much more refined gun in my opinion. I own a Glock 19 Gen 4 and a H&K P2000. Both are great guns but I would trust my life with the H&K not because it cost more, but because it eats anything and has better ergonomics. It also feels to have a smoother recoil. But to each their own.
