Religion ooo that's a tough one help me decide what I HAVE to believe guys. Been trying to figure that out for years now.. But you guys have a great idea on what I should know/believe please share for me my beliefs and view on a matter.

Again my blather is a little empty for this pissing match so I'm stepping away. I can admit I splurged some misinformation but I know what I mean and my views on the matter. Again could care less on your views/beliefs. I have better things to do than banter my point on the interwebs copy and pasting defanitions and examples and puff my chest all morning for some pride on a forum.

Eh stubborn old fashioned or what ever I just don't see a book as a tool.. Break it down yea pretty much ANYTHING can be used as a tool in some form. I just stick to the tool section at home depot on my defanition of a tool

Figure they have a better idea/understanding of tools than some English scholar who submits Webster defanitions for a living lol

I really don't mind scratching up my guns too much unless the gun has some sort of collectors value or something but even then, I'll never own a safe queen. Now if somebody else scratches my gun, that bothers me, but if I put the scratches there, no big deal.

I like how everyone here refers to damage on firearms as "Battle scars." Its not a battle scar if you drop it on a pile of bricks and hobo spit while admiring how beautiful it is.

I'm not afraid of wear on my firearms. In fact, as a big C&R guy, I like character to my guns. Having said that, if I buy a brand new gun, I want it to look purdy for at least a little while. If it happens to get scratched while in a HD/combat situation, or while using it for severe training than so be it.
But if its first damage comes because of my carelessness or an accident, yeah I'm gonna be pissed.

Depends. A watch is a tool. A Rolex is a watch. I wouldn't want to scratch a Rolex.

The value or attractiveness has no bearing on whether something is a tool or not. As for people telling others how to think, none of that is going on. Words have specific meanings, not opinions.

Just a heads-up.

If your slide was 'scratched' by a brass rivet on a pair of jeans, some copper solvent might wipe that 'scratch' right off with some elbow grease.

I see a gun as a "special" tool ( I know ppl are gonna say something of course ) all of my guns have scratchs on them somewhere or holster wear. I dropped my ar right on the my newish acog ta31f last week. I got kinda butthurt about that and was wondering if my zero would hold. But then I went to trijicons website and read a story on an 11B infrantry in afghanistan and his m4 blowing out of the top of a humvee from an IED and it still held zero. yyaaaaayyy!

Now if a had a Nighthawk or Ed Brown or SCAR16/17 it might be a different story

Iv seen a couple of firearms instructors who run fighting rifle/ handgun class's and say " if your worried about your safe queen getting scratched than this class isnt for you" I dont believe that 100% I think thats a little overkill its not like Id throw my gun on the cement on purpose but a couple dents and dings add character to your guns

I don't like my guns to get beat up.

Here is my competition gun with 30k+ rounds through it in local matches. I wouldn't want to throw it in a drop box filled with rock or sand. The local club uses plastic boxes and usually puts a piece of rubber in the bottom. Using rock is just stupid and unnecessary.

My XD has light scratches from the kydex holster, but the stainless hides it well. You can see that some of the controls have the black finish worn off. The rear sight does catch things as it is in my holster, so it has some wear. My mags get dropped in the dirt and sometimes stepped on. My AR is in nice shape, but it will get a bit of wear as well. I am using my skeet gun for 3 gun (Benelli super sport) and that one I do not want scratched. It is the only gun I have with bluing on it. I prefer stainless and polymer since it holds up so well.
