Nice to make some of your lists of where to shop. We do our best to always offer good customer service. We kind of frown on employees who are involved in personal conversations and ignore customers at the counter. They usually get one warning and then we show them the door. Also we don't allow our employees to use cell phones and other electronic gear while working. If I catch 'em on the cell phone - I get a new phone!
As far as pricing goes we do our best to be competitive. We aren't the cheapest, but then we don't profess to be discount house. We offer service and good quality merchandise. There have been a lot of gun stores come and go over the last 20 years or so. Many have left because of the political climate in California, but some are gone because they took their eye of the ball. You have to make a profit or eventually the whole thing goes upside down. We are focused on paying the bills each month and being able to keep a little for ourselves. So far that seems to be a good practice as we have been around since 1949.
The other thing that I must mention is that you can buy on the internet and probably cheaper than those of us who maintain the old brick and mortar stores with employees. But, when you have problem with something that you bought we will be there to stand behind it. Will the guy on the internet do the same - maybe, maybe not. Also when you just want to run down and pick something up we are here - and we do count on your support.
We also try to hire and keep knowledgeable people. Everyone on the floor wears a name tag. So if you are getting not just bad, but stupid information, I'd appreciate knowing who it was so we can set them straight.
Appreciate the opportunity to respond.

So, what's your current political position on AWs? When this subject came up before, the GrantBoys poster asked to close a thread to not get into it.
For those of you who still remember the 80's OR who now don't have AWs, you should read through this thread:
I'm curious if you'll appreciate the opportunity to respond this time or if you'll refuse to take responsibility again?
Here's the 1st post:
Originally posted by big jonSome of you may have been keeping up with the GB thred abought customer service, I had posted that I didn`t go there anymore because of GB jumping on the AW ban in the 80`s I stoped reading after the 3rd 4th page of GB is taking responceability and so it`s ok with me? All that is fine with me everyone can choose to do as they please and shop where they want too. But i don`t think the fact that GB stance on the AW bans in the 80`s should be forgotten, and the fact that he`s not going to talk abought it and had the thread closed is disturbing at best especaly when he said in his own post that he was interested in our comments???sorry but I just don`t get it
Back in the 80`s I was a Manager of the Straight Shooter gun range/shop. When the Media was looking to do interviews with gun shops abought AK`s back then EVERYTHING was a AK? anyhow our shop was called too and I told them we weren`t interested in doing any intervews and they showed up anyways and spoke with our customers and our GM who wasn`t a gun guy and had on idea what he was talking abought and looked it on the news that night.
Now as for GB what I can remember is they did do a interview and they were saying that they agreed that AK should be baned and that they were pulling them off the floor? Do I think GB was wrong? NO anyone can say what they want too, Do I think GB made the ban possible NO, I do think EVERYONE should know what they did so we can make our own minds up as to where our hard earned money is going to support.
I have notice that most of Cal Gunners are younger folk and I don`t think you Guys know how free our state use to be? In the early 80`s we had Prop 15 it`s was basicly going to ban all handguns in the future. Prop 15 was defeted badly showing our State to be PRO GUN! It was after that our so called Leaders stated to BAN with out letting us vote on anything, Back then if you would have told me I`ed have to take apart my AR to load it I`ed of thought you looney. If anyone thinks it`s going to end with you can`t have a pistol grip on that or 10rn mags or this or that your nut`s Our State is no longer conserned with our rights and has made criminals out of us.
AS for me I could careless abought GB I`ed never buy from them again......
And for GB to close the thread like that is sooooooo week....

I just went to Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World in Rancho Cucamonga last night. Man this place is HUGE!!! Incase those of you were wondering, they indeed sell handguns there. They stock just about every mainstream handgun and large number of revolvers. Their Optics selection was amazing. Prices weren't too bad. Lets be honest here, getting a awesome deal from a socal gunshop is a rarity. They stock reloading stuff and your usual supplies as well as lots of hunting stuff. Go check it out, its open til 10pm too.Comment

All the guys at Pasadena Turners are outstanding as well. Friendly, Informative, A+ Customer service.Comment

hi guys, new poster here. not much selection left these day other than Turner's. the one in Pasadena was great, a bit to small for chain but good cs, specially for younger salesman. for some reason, gun shop like to negate young firearm buyers. i had two bad experiences from turner Norwalk. stood in front of counter for 15 min and 3 of their salesmen were just there chatting with a gentleman who was telling some old war story. nothing wrong with be personal with their customer but come on.
other than that, i found out if you are younger customer, seek help from younger salesman(that have at least some idea of gun).
i also get my firearms from OC indoor range. they have small selection but not bad prices and they can order everything for you and pretty much get it the same as mrsp. one cool things is if you buy from them, in the 10 days cool off period you can shoot your gun at their range. the older gentleman at pro shop is a bit hard to warm up with but their younger guys are really cool to talk with.Taiwan born, Chinese descent, red white and freaking blue America citizen.
Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.Comment

To come to Turner's defense, I have praise for the Corona, formerly Riverside store. I've only had one bad experience and that was that no one knew how to disassemble /reassemble the Ruger MK III I bought from them. The mgr. wasn't there on the weekend when I picked it up, otherwise he would have.
I initially bought a Browning Buckmark 22 at their gun faire. I had some major problems with it and their mgr. was nice enough to take it back and allow me to get a completely different weapon. He told me he wouldn't let me leave the store unhappy.
I have always been asked if I needed help within the first minute of coming to the counter. While there, I have also seen other employees do the same with other customers, young or older.
Maddog, a member here, is also an employee there and was very helpful when I was purchasing my Surefire Flashlight. He also has been able to answer all of my questions concerning guns too.
I'm only speaking of this particular store as I've not gone to any others.Comment

I've been going to Martin B. Retting for over ten years, the deal there is you have to talk to the same guy every time, they used to have some old salty bastards that weren't so nice, but i've been dealing with Doug for over ten years. He is the man. The staff, even the guys more on the rude side, are very in the know, it seems though that they have hired some younger guys recently and through talking with them, not only do they know there stuff, but they are nice to boot.
Only been to the Turner's in Redondo, wow, couldn't be a larger grouping of douche bags in one building. Rude, rude, and um, rude, do not go out of their way to be nice and are not very smart, even with the simple laws. Avoid this place like the plague.
I've always heard good things about Ade's, it's simply too far for me to go. Havn't really looked at their prices but every time i've shot at Oaktree, the guys in the shop have been super nice, but that is a bit out of the region you inquired about.

The employees there are rude, motivated by something other than what's best for the customer (greed?)....
I watched them sell a Sig 226 to a first time gun owner that had originally wanted a revolver.
"What you need is this $950.00 Sig P226, it's what the Navy Seals use, it is just what you need in your bedside drawer..."
Just *******s working there!sigpicComment
