Contrary to some rumors they are very accurate out to 100 yards they have almost no kick and with a red dot and a good cheek weld are very deadly weapons.

They are also fun to shoot and I miss mine, I will buy another as soon as I can afford it.

I had to get one, just because, and later went out and got the AK47 Draco pistol, just because I can. Plus it's fun.

The buffer tube acts like a stock.

With a red dot they are comfortable.

People should try one before judging. I really like mine.

So all your guns are for serious use only? No hunting, skeet, range, competition, etc?
Something being fun does not mean it is not serious. Range use is practice, very serious. Competition is serious. Hunting is taking a life and providing food, very serious.

Just finished my first ar pistol build today. Looking forward to seeing how it works at the range. Should be lots of fun....

It's a lot of fun to shoot
And it's the closest thing to an SBR that we can get here
I built my up from an 80%

How much does it cost to build one of these?

                            80% lower, + upper, + barrel to suit, + externals, + sights/optics, + muzzle device.

So, depends on your preferences, really.

                              my reasoning.. In order.

                              1) Because I can.
                              2) Legal way to own a SBR upper with out running into federal issues. And I really wanted an SBR upper
                              3) Fun to shoot
                              4) Pretty accurate with a cheap red dot on top.
                              5) Had an extra couple of 80% lowers.
                              6) When I bought the upper, it was so cheap, I couldnt pass it up.

350.00 for a 7inch barrel with DPMS chrome internals with a YHM Phantom brake/comp.

at the range, even people that say its a dumb idea smile when I let them shoot it.

I have a Sig556 pistol. I bought it as part of a package and had some reservations about it's utility. I put a RMR sight and Magpul XTM finger stops and it actually handles quiet nicely. 10" barrel preserves more velocity than most AR pistols. I like not having a buffer tube. It's fast handling and defensively accurate. It always gets a lot of attention at the range...it looks badass and it's loud. It's more fun than tactical, but it would be quite comfortable in a BOB.
