WalMart in Moreno Valley Had Ammo This AM

I was at the new Wal Mart at 6250 Valey Springs Parkway Riverside California 92507 951 653 4849 and was there 2 days ago and shelves were slim-pickin's.

This morning, I had to return a pair of leather gloves and walked back to the sporting goods area and met this lady and she asked if she could help me, told her "probably not as I was looking for 22 LR's"...she laughed and asked how many I wanted.

I thought she was jerking my chain....this was a 'little before 10 AM} and she had this large shopping cart and she was stocking her selves...she asked me if I wanted any 308's, 270's, 40's, 38's, 45's, 9's, 223's and I laughed and said ONLY 22's LADY. She said "I have these Remington's {225 per box} for $9.97 if you want them. Sweet Jesus! There is a God and he loves me, I told her I will take 4 boxes and leave the boxe for others, then thought the grandson and I have only 485 22's left, so I better get more. She said you can have all and I told her "No Thanks" but will take 9 boxes. $89.73 + 8% tax for $96.91 out the door....I'm a happy camper + went to the Bullseye Gun Shop and the 14 year grandson's new shotgun had just arrived and was able to bring it home. New Shotgun for GS....4 boxes of 225 per box 22's for $10.76 per box....Big 5 last night didn't have any 22's....Turner's NONE....another gun shop had 3 boxes {100 rounds} for $12.97 + tax but I ain't paying 43 bucks for 300 rounds. No Way Jose!

Thats what the cabinet at the Reno Walmart looked like on Tuesday.
Wednesday it was full again when I went back for 45acp. It's hit or miss depending on the day. I asked about a limit and they said none at this time. Didn't want to be a dick and thought that a few of the 100pks-WWB was good, leaving some for others. They only got in about a dozen in. -g

If ammo was like gold, I have all the ammo you need...at $1600 per oz.

But seriously, now is a bad time to buy items related to firearms. Selling is a different story if you have surplus. If you want to play right now, you are going to PAY...big time. I wont say if its worth it or not to buy now as I am not in your shoes.

Ive been in the game for almost 20 years. I would recommend checking sgammo DAILY - even multiple times per day - as they IMO have always been fair. Problem is they sell out quick. You must be diligent and visit it often. For example, I watched almost 1K cases of 1K rounds of 7.62x39 disappear from sgammo in less than 24 hrs. near December 15th. That is almost one million rounds from ONE supplier in less than 24 hrs. Never before have I seen such a demand.

              OPINION:
That said, I feel ammo prices will come back down to reality. Eventually. Next month...I doubt it. Six months from now...it will be better than today. The big problem is if frankenstein is able to pass (I feel...and hope its highly unlikely) a no online ammo sales to CA residents.

Just my guess, but about the middle of Feb. we will see it lighten up a bit. I could be full of crap, but most manufacturers probably shut down on Christmas and New Years and perhaps close up early the day before, meaning that 3 days of recent production are gone, making the supply even less during the panic buy.

I believe I have access to a large supply of 9mm 147gr target ammo. Looks like $25 for 50rds sounds good.

Just picked up two boxes of 00 buck from Turners and .223 45 gr JHP from Walmart today. Local range I go to also makes their own ammo. I can get 50 rounds of .223 55 gr FMJ for $21.

It may get worse if the State Legislature has its way. They want essentially want to put many of the same restrictions on ammo purchases, that are on gun purchases. With the Dems in control, it's not out of the realm of possibility. 2 cents from a new member.

I went to Walmart today, they were pretty empty except for 12 gauge & hunting rifle ammo. They did have one case if 9mm, but the clerk only wanted to sell me 3 boxes of 100 round remington hp. I thought this was cool & sucked at the same time. He was just trying to spread it around a bit, & I did not want to be rude and push the situation. He at least tried to tell me when they get shipments in & when to call back.

Went to my LGS/range today. No retail sales of ammo. Have to shoot it there and everyone rationed to 2 boxes. Very few guns left. Uncertain of future shipments.
