    Sig 2022 experiences?

So im looking at picking up a Sig 2022, I really like Sigs and frequently shoot others in the 200 series. Ive heard some mixed reviews about the 2022, but I guess those stem from the earlier models and not the new ones? Anyone got experience, want to talk me in or out of buying one?

Also, would anyone have a good recommendation on a holster? There doesnt seem to be the variety. I heard that theyll fit in holsters designed for 4" XDs, and thats what some people do to carry. Any thoughts?

Love mine. Great firearm at any price. I have only had one issue and it was the ammo.

Love mine as well, 2500+ flawless rounds through it. Recoil will undoubtedly be higher than its full metal brothers, but for the price there really isn't a better alternative.

Also, for a holster, I use a Blackhawk Serpa. Got mine off amazon and it works quite well.

Love mine. I have the 40sw variety. I've put approx 1k rounds through it in a little under a year and I've had exactly zero problems.

As others have mentioned, great price for a great gun. Had mine slightly under a year and roughly 1000 rds through it w/out any issues what so ever. No regrets buying it.

just picked one up as well with a blackhawk serpa. picked up a .40 and I didn't find a problem with recoil. for a beginner shooter I had great grouping so far.

Going to pick up mine in 2 days! We rented it before buying it. It was a very nice, soft-recoil pistol. Accurate and easy to manipulate. I like the grip although it will be different from the 1911 I'm used to. The other pistol I was looking at was the Sig P229 which is roughly the same size, but an all steel frame and double the price. The stock 3 dot sights are big and bright for these tired old eyes. The night sites are supposed to be even better (but extra of course). For $400, you can't really beat it.

Just my humble opinion, the all metal trigger and trigger control group is what sets this apart from the XD's, Glocks and M&P's of the world. Gives the trigger a much nicer, more positive feel to it.

The downsides: Only comes with 1 magazine-Extras are hard to come by, cost a lot (roughly $40-$50 depending on where you shop) and a carboard box if that matters to you.

From a few of the other posts I've read, the first 500 or so break-in rounds can be a bit of a trial and error with ammo. Shooting factory 115 grain FMJ can lead to FTE/FTF issues. But, if you step up to 124(?) it's supposed to help. Researched this pistol prior to purchasing and afterwards, haven't come across any real issues that seem to be pistol related.

Other than that, I think if you field strip, clean and lube it prior to heading out to the range for the first time, I think any issues would be isolated to break-in period.

              Happy hunting and safe shooting!

I haven't heard anything bad about it at all really. I picked mine up last Thursday. haven't fired it yet but the quality and fit/finish inside and out is outstanding. Every spring and required part inside has a splash of TW25B and was pretty much spotless when I took grip off.

DA trigger is typical long and heavy but it's so smooth you'd think it was lighter. SA pull is incredible. I thought Glocks had amazing triggers and I still love them but after dry firing my SP2022 .40 a ton with snap caps.... I suddenly had to find myself pulling harder on my Glock 26 the next day.

If I was to be anal there's a tiny tiny pin prick of a chip on the outside of the muzzle you need a jeweler's loop to notice. I'm OCD and can't help but completely fuss over new firearms for the first few weeks I get them. Every tool mark and flaw is documented in my obsessive brain until I finally get over it...

It has no effect on the function of the pistol though.

Edit: Mine was $545, SigLite Night Sights, 2x Magazines, Cardboard Box, US Made. Not the cheapest but Turner's are now $489.99 and come with 1 mag - hour drive for me.

Mine is a great gun. 4,000 rounds and not a single issue. I found mags here in the marketplace for $15 shipped. IMHO, you can't get a better gun for the price. I have a Blackhawk serpa holster for it also.

I forgot to add I found a seemingly great holster on Amazon made in Israel by IMI. Good reviews, great guy who sells it. I'll give a picture review when I receive mine (Around end of January...)

                      Was about $44.

i owned one and loved it. i only sold it to trade it for a gun more suited to the competitions i was getting into.
                        i had 6 mags, so i bought 5 at $45 a piece.... that was a tough hit.
loved the grip, sights were fine, mine came with a laser, i used a blackhawk holser as well.
mine was in 9 and had a little over 1,000 rounds through it in 4 months and never ever had a misstep.
mine was $480 out the door, i don;t think any other gun can compete at that price.
Competition is where you find out you're slow, can't see well, are not accurate, have poor gun handling, can't visualize, have equipment that doesn't work and either accept it OR DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

They had it listed for $449 with night sights and laser but only in .40 in their ad.

Thanks everyone! I think after work tomorrow im going to go see about making a purchase.
With the holster I shouldve been more specific, this is probably going to become my CCW/EDC. So, im thinkin along the lines of a leather IWB. I finally found Bianchi has what im looking for. I was asking about the the 2022fitting an XD cuz that would open up more options. That was a my bad guys

I have a sp2022 in .40 cal it's a great gun and love it! I also have the sig holster which is perfect for camping which is the only time I use it. It's kinda bulky though.
