No idea if it is the DOJ...but I am sure their parts are not booked out for 6 months.

I am sure more details will be forthcoming.

after living in a louisiana the past year, I realize even more how freaking ridiculous California gun laws are. seriously, walk into a store, walk out with a gun. That's how it should f'n be.

So sorry you have to jump through all these hoops, OP.

For most guns the demand tends to be either sporadic, where a few days wait is not a big deal, or so high that there are not enough guns in stock, where having multiple conversion kits wouldn't speed up the process since the guns are not available.
This is true. Perhaps the OP could work something out with an SSE FFL near him to contribute part of the cost of acquiring the parts. Given that the alternative would be two driving trips to PRK or EBR, it might wind up costing less or the same when price of gas, time lost traveling, etc. is factored in. And if he can find others who are also stuck trying to take possession of the same gun, they can split the cost even further.

Would you be willing to sell the gun? Then you could buy the gun from a local(er) shop that does SSE.

DOJ lies to businessman, businessman loses sale as a direct result

I'm no lawyer, but you have to wonder if there ain't a very winnable lawsuit right there.

sounds like there might even be a witness

                    Got my XDM from PRK

                    Got my PPQ from EBR

Both transactions were very smooth and the staff equally friendly and knowledgeable.

I would also defer to the time and gas spent on the road vs the extra cost of $100.

If it's a barrel, I'd imagine they'd send one for the right price. I guess if he's trying to figure out the mag lock, that could take awhile longer.
maybe he only has a couple barrels and they are both out. ???

I'm would say Tracy Rifle and pistol does it. I saw that you checked already , but I could of sworn to have seen one there. Another option is look in the private fire arms for sale section. You could do a Ftf transfer without the need to SSe. And I think some one from Sac is/was selling one ?

The problem for the OP is that he's already paid for the gun so he's already out the money, and there is (theoretically) already a gun set aside for him at what's left of Valkyrie Arms. He just needs to get that gun shipped to someone who can SSE it for him.

Any update on this? Sorry to butt in, but also have one coming that I've purchased from a shop in UT that I just finished my layaway.. Had my PPQ bought from the same place and Valkyrie Arms SSE'd it previously.. Now I'm also stuck with the XDS to do the SSE for me.. I'm close to the OP (SF Area), and wondering if I could take the same route as the OP did/would do..

My XDS ended up being "misplaced/stolen" http from someone at Valkyrie. So they refunded me and I ended up buying from Wild Bills in Elk Grove. I was going to have to drive to EBR to have it done. Couldn't find a place in the Bay Area at or Sac to SSE. PRK said they would do it, but I didn't get a good vibe when I called them. I figured I would go through the sure thing route after I went through the fiasco with Valkyrie. Good luck
