Why lasers?

Why do you guys put lasers on your guns? I am new, but I find the sights more the acceptable for a handgun - does a laser make that much of a difference?

because I have them on my airsoft and paint ball guns and i want to be like all the other kids at the mall

You won't regret it. That is the one gun I really think they're necessary for. The limited sight radius and poor (fast drawing) sights didn't help with accuracy. The laser does.
