I have CT LG401's on my Kimber Custom II. Perfect for a personal home defense pistol. Not suitable for target shooting, but great for quick acquisition from cover and in low-light, especially if you wear glasses.

Why lasers?

Agree, I have a Crimson Trace on my Colt 1991A1 Compact .45. It is not worth a sh** at the range, but for SD at home, any advantage helps when you are stressed. It is more distracting than anything else as you can see the dot move, no matter how steady you think you are. I can group just as well with the sights.
I took my a** of a brother-in-law to the range and let him use the laser, at 21' he could not get within 3-4" of the target. No way I was going to tell him he was anticipating the big "BANG" and jerking the trigger. I could see the light move just before the gun went off.The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by thoes who have not got it.

That is the only thing I use my laser for pretty much. Very good in that purpose. Really shows you what you are doing during the squeeze and just before trigger breaks.Comment

If the lasermax guide rod lasers were cheaper, I'd have one for the aesthetics only, and possible chance it can produce intimidation on the chest of a BG in my home...and make them run or give up their assault without dying.
Sights and a flashlight (mounted or held or bitten or head mounted) are a better way to go for HD imho.Fleeing the PRK on 3/8/09!!Comment

Exactly. You don't want to extend your arms if someone is close enough to grab your gun. If your house has a tight corner, you might want to come around it with your gun tucked in close to your body to avoid having to fight to keep your weapon.sigpicNRA MemberOriginally posted by Deadbolt"We're here to take your land for your safety"
