    HiPoint yes HiPoint vs glock!!!

So im getting rid of my glocks. I found a gun that only costs $150!!

    Lol just kidding
my brother got rid of his g27 and got a ruger 9mm.
My gf decides shes ready fir a 9mm too. So I bought her a hipoint hahaha. Anyways do any of you know about them? Mag is a little sticky going in, pistol is very heavy for its size. But do any of you own one? Whats your impression?
Fyi I will buy her a g19 if she likes shooting 9mm, but I figured if she dont like 9mm I can give it away and lost very little money.
Right now she shoots a sig mosquito I got her.

I also bought my GF a Hi-point C9. Its a snappy little pistol for $150, you'll be surprised what a good value it is. Hers had problems feeding from the factory 8-rounder, turned out the feed lips were out of spec. Didn't find out until after I bought a couple of 10s but her and I both seam to prefer the extra grip. It is a fixed barrel pistol so if your girl has a problem with limp wristing that could also cause ftf. So far I haven't found any sight upgrades for it and the only other manufacturer of magazines is Pro-mag. Magazines are tight at first but will gradually go in smoother, one plus is that the 9mm carbine mags also fit. You should be pleased with it, and I hope my experience helps out.

High points are a mixed bag.

Like you state, very heavy, horrible trigger and sights. Very accurate, at least the example I tried. I have seen a few High Points that had failures. Not sure what kind but was probably limp wristing. I would assume that with such heavy slides they need a firm hand to cycle reliably.

I would LOVE to see Dave Sevigny or Todd Jarret or Jesse Abbate or some other top shooter take a stock Hipoint C9 to a match and own that match. Just to prove a point (or not). If I were Hipoint, I would invest in a decent shooting team. I might buy a Hipoint just to support a company that decided "Guns should not be so expensive that people who might need them can't afford them".

Mine is complete hot trash, but I bought it used and I think someone messed with it. I get light primer strikes and the mag releases its self every 2nd or 3rd round. It's on its way back to hi point for repair. Thank you hi poi.t for the lifetime warranty. I blame previous owners not the gun. On the plus side it is accurate and recoil is low because of its weight. Happy shooting

Mine actually wanted a Browning High Power like the one Anita Blake carries (comic book character). I found Hi-point at a local gunstore and said "Sorry baby this is all I can afford right now". I've thought about getting her a M&P9 as an upgrade, but she likes my .45 1911 so much as to raise concern.

I've seen some pretty amazing stress tests on the highpoint 9c that made it look pretty good for being a $150 pistol. As far as accuracy and fit/finish go, obviously it will resemble a $150 gun, but in terms of reliability I was pretty amazed that it was still shooting by the end of the videos. Take a minute to search some of the stress tests on youtube and see what you think.

That's funny, same exact thing happened to me. I wanted my GF to "like" my M&P9 because of how simple it is to operate but she is literally in love with my GSR. I had to add an ambi-safety, some nice cocobolo grips, and a magazine well. I have a feeling I am going to give it to her, but a happy woman is a happy home.

I got my wife a M&P9mm but she took my Kimber says it got a better trigger. Northcal dont be cheap and buy your grilfriend a 1911 she will love it then you 2 can settle it which is better glock or 1911

                          @domingo
We already know which is better between 1911 and glock lol I dont remember your exact words when we were torturing the glock and m&p but it was somewhere along the lines of,,, heck to the no. lol
As for why I picked a hiPoint well shes been wanting a 9mm for a while, ive bought her plenty of pistols as nd rifles and the only one she really has interest shooting is the .22's I cant afford to buy myself guns and her guns especially when she wont shoot the guns she wants.
Thanks for all the replies, I really enjoy the hipoint995 carbine so hopefully this thing is atleast half as good as that.

We looked at one, it was used in the cabinet at a LGS, $99 price tag on it, felt like a cheap piece of crap in my hand, my GF hated it. It definitely looks like a $100 gun, and I feel bad if someone paid more than that for one.

She ended up with a Rossi 461 as her first gun and is in love with it.

"Moms Demand Action" sounds less like a gun control group and more like the title of a porn flick from the mid-90s.

Yes I agree 100% with you as far as the feel of the quality, but who know maybe its a decent shooter. I figure $150 is worth trying it out, and if its a crapper hipoint has a great warranty, and if its still a crapper I can give it to someone who will enjoy it.
There aint alot of semi-auto pistols or rifles for $150 so may as well take advantage and try it out. And you should have bought it for $99!!!!
