    Glock sucks

    JK

Thought I'd tell people that I just bought a Gen 4 G17 and I think Glock has finally resolved the issues with the Gen fours. Before I bought it I made sure it had the latest ejector 30274 and the correct recoil spring 0 4 2. I picked it up and went to the range I put 400 rounds through it without any hiccups or brass in the face.

I know its early in its life but there will be a better test this weekend since I'm taking this bad boy to a 2 day pistol and rifle class with TASC. I went to the range to make sure I didn't have any problems with it before hand. So the moral is I think the Gen 4 17 is GTG with the latest revision.

For what it is I don't think anyone could tell you that you made a bad choice when talking about the G17. It's light weight, potentially hi capacity, accurate, good ergos, and has a great trigger what else could you hope for in a defensive pistol.

Heard them referred to as "Glunk" today, and got a chuckle out of it.

I F****** love this gun I was hitting hand sized groups @ 10+ yards less than a second between shots one handed strong and weak handed. I'm getting another one the mag release doesn't require a vickers the frame doesn't require modifying.

All I need is vickers slide stop and some NS (Trijicon HD's) and I'll be GTG has anyone tried the grip force adapter? I know Ken Hackathorn likes them so I was going to give it a shot but I really don't know about it because as far as I'm concerned the feel is Perfection.

You should get yourself a 9mm next it's half the cost to shoot.

The issues and fixes with Gen 4's apply only to the 9mm 17 and 19 from my understanding. One of the first issues was the 17's where shipping with the same recoil spring as the 22's. The ejector I don't know the answer to that since I did my research only on the 17. As far as I know you don't have to worry about the issues with a Gen4 G22.

                      yeah i heard the same...i heard it's mainly the 9mm gen 4 that had the problem..i wanna get a g23 so i don't accidently make a mistake and put a 9mm in the g22 since i have a g17 lol...

I hear you on that from my experience I never shoot .40 and 9 on the same table I try to keep them very separate for that reason its very easy to mistake the 2 side by side. The only issue I had with my G19 which is the same size is I would hit the slide lock and the hump feels different. My 17 has the small back strap and it feels like I would want it reduced to it feels way different in the hand than standard Glock. Also I think Glock nailed the texture on the Gen 4's too it really is a perfect compromise and I tend to favor very aggressive stippling or checkering. For example and reference if I always had my choice on 1911's I would opt for at a minimum 25 LPI.

Congrats OP ! I just picked up my Glock 17 Gen 4 yesterday. Same RSA and Glock is shipping me a 30274 ejector since I am a Glock armorer. (came with a 336). Already installed Warren/Sevigny Competition Sight Set on it.

I was also curious about the grip force adaptor. It comes ridged or smooth and would like to hear reviews before taking that plunge. Guess for $24 it may be worth it.

Nice choice on the sights I'm almost tempted in going Warren/Fiber or w/Heine Ledge straight 8's. How about we buy one of each GFA and split the cost I didn't know they had a smooth variation.

I know there have been SOME issues with GEN 4 9mm Glocks, but my GEN 4 G17 with original 0-2 RSA & original 336 ejector has been flawless. I have almost 1k down the pipe, including factory target ammo, 124gr +P Rangers & a ton of my USPSA/IDPA reloads. I haven't had one single failure.

Congratulations on the new Glock! Be safe, and enjoy.
