Well update, seems like the state of CA wants me to feel victimized again. It's time I can recover my pistol it seems. Well before I can get my hands back on my pistol. I need to fill out a CA DOJ firearms release form, along with my police report so I get the fee waiver of $20. Then mail it to sacramento, then wait for a certification saying I am the legal owner, and that the pistol was stolen, then bring it to the property section at the police station then get the pistol back in my hands. This kind of liberal B.S pisses me off!damn holy sh1t they really want 'us' to go thru leaps and bounds in order to excersice our 2a in CA...that would drive me up the wall...good thing i have plenty of back-up...but there has got to be a better way...thats just nonsenseIt is BS. I had to go through that for a pistol I voluntarily turned over to the officer on scene of my motorcycle accident. They wouldn't send to my local gun store, or PD, so I had to make the 4 hour drive down there (painfully crippled, mind you) so that I could retrieve my gun WITHOUT any of the $30+ worth of defensive ammo. They "threw it out." Claimed they won't return a pistol with ammo in case some irate civilian decided to turn his gun on a room full of guys with guns.

my brother's house was burgled, back in the 80's, and my trooper MK3 was stolen.
the neighbor's son, was my brother's biggest suspect. crime wasn't solved, but chp, made an arrest in woodland, and the driver, had my gun, i got it back, after describing it.
now my brother's son, has it.That may be a CG first!

Not the '80s, unfortunately. By law, before turning it over to you, you have to submit the request via gov't form and the fee goes towards a background check to ensure you are legal to have a gun. I guess a CCW (only 4 months old at the time) wasn't proof enough. I figured asking the cop to take it was a better option than getting loaded into the ambulance with it.Comment

Great news, my son was not so lucky!! DB was painting neighbors house, climbed the fence, accomplice distracted doberman and Cheaspeak at other room slider while he climbed into bedroom and closed the door. Got away with $$, jewlery, my deceased mothers gun I gave him (in small locked safe), tried to get the flat screen. DB told the neighbor he would not be back to finish painting. Police has DB name, on probation, address....nothing!! Wish I was still working, easy case to clear, IMHO.sigpic

Had to go through the same exact thing when one of my stolen firearms was recovered. Sucks. Gotta love Kalifornia.Well update, seems like the state of CA wants me to feel victimized again. photos of each firearm, with the ser # shown, put on a cd, and placed in a secure place, like a safe deposit box, is better. i say cd, because a flash drive is compromisable, or use actual photographs.....anyone want to know what those are? google
sorry for the loss, but worse, there is now a firearm, in unfriendly hands.... i have been there beforeThat may be a CG first!
