      I go Glocks. Xd's don't fit my hand as well.

        It's a toss up. I use to own a hs2000(pre springfield xd) which was an xlnt gun. I now have a glock 17. Both are very well made. If you planning on buying one try to go shoot both to see what works for you. One thing I like about glocks is you can strip them down completely easily, xd's are more complicated. As for the grip, xd's seem more comfortable and natural but I'm use to my glock now. Mark

            Basically the same gun...

            XD Con;
            Chamber indicator which will break... and really serves no purpose other then for blind shooters who alzheimer's.

            You can't repair the XD's, because Springfield doesn't have extra parts.

            XD Pro;

            I like the safety.

            With this said, and already owning 2 XD's I still pick glock, as I'll be buying one after new years. G19. I like being able to repair my own gun!

              Personally if i did have to choose between the two, I would go XD-9 in service with a grip shortening to the compact 10 rd mag. :-) looks nicer

                XD fits me better than a Glock. I kept my XD9 sub and sold my Glock 17.

                    What's the point of the grip safety on XD's? Glock WILL NOT fire unless the trigger is squeezed. It does not need any goofy external safeties. I think there were two reasons for Springfield to add the grip safety. One was to please the 1911 crowd and two to differentiate XD's from Glock pistols that they shamelessly ripped off.

                      i used the grip safety to convince my wife it was safer than my glock so i can buy it. so, thats one use.

                        I divorced my wife so I could spend money on things I like instead of her spending MY money on shoes, purses and jewelry. Why should you have to ask for your wife's permission to buy things she clearly doesn't understand (if she knew guns she would know that XD's were no safer than Glocks in any way)?

                          i almost divorced my wife, we were going through all the court crap, and i had to pay 860 a month in child support, so, if i divorced her i would have no money to spend on things i like. she works too. she doesnt know guns, the one time i took her to a range with me, she wore a semi-low cut shirt and got a casing on her boobie, she proceeding to freak out that it burned and waved a loaded gun in the air a little. needless to say, that was the last time she went shooting with me.

                            LOL...I feel your pain, bro. My ex-wife wouldn't even touch my guns. Now my g/f loves to go shooting with me and is getting pretty good at it. At least I got lucky with the divorce - we didn't even have lawyers, as simple and painless as can be. Now I can buy all the toys I want (or can afford). If only Saturday could come sooner so I could go and liberate the latest addition to the family (Sig P226) from its 10-day sentence!
