For the OP's situation, what I said is basically correct. Perhaps the buyer and seller don't have to be present together, but they must both be present at the same FFL.

Either way, unless the OP is willing to pay for the seller's trip to his area, it's not going to happen.

I know...This thread is going round and round. I am lucky that I travel all of CA for work so in person PPT are just a matter of timing for me.

Indeed... Or as I mentioned, depending on his FFL's dealer transfer fee, it might even save him money or close to break even.

I'd travel a fair distance to sell a gun if the buyer was willing to pay for my gas.
Kick me an extra $100 on the sale and I'll go 150 miles one way to meet at your FFL... it beats you making the trip twice.

Right now, the OP's only options are to bring the seller to him, or to make the trip to the seller twice.

I think the bottom line is that buying a gun off gunbroker is not like buying a rod & reel off ebay. You can't just see something you like and place your bid. You have to know exactly what you are bidding on, know your FFL, know your FFL's policies AND verified the roster (twice!). There is no way I would send payment to a seller without verifying with my FFL that he'll accept the gun AND that he's OK to DROS it to me. I would rather have a seller mad at me for screwing up his sale or being a day late with payment than for that seller to have my money for a gun that is stuck in limbo.

What kind of government do you guys got here? This is worse than California.
