moving to CA from texas

I lived in Texas before. California is a freer state in everything else except firearms. As long as you comply with the silly rules, you'll still able to enjoy your 2nd Amendments rights. Every Californian have the right to b**ch about their own state. But they won't leave..Welcome home.

Yea, I've had a good time buying a Gen4 Glock, getting my CCW, and DPMS Panther 308 (no bullet button and 20+ round mags). BUT, I still want back to the great California. i was told that i need to get them registered if i move to CA, can i still use my high capacity magazines that came with guns ?

Guns, Taxes, speed limits, cost of living, and in general how nice people are. All better in TX, or just about anywhere outside CA, short of major metro areas.

LOL - did you ever consider that a large percentage of the adults living in California didn't grow-up in California? They were taught those "friendly ways" in other states and other countries...

I've said it before: I invite anyone who wants to leave CA to do so - the more tourists that go back wherever they came from, the better this state will be!

In no way does this contradict what you said, but there are also semi-mass exoduses from CA. In the 80's, when I was living in Spokane, WA, it seemed like all of Orange County (CA) was moving up there. Soooooo many Californians moving to that area. Now, there's a heck of a lot of Californians moving to Idaho, among other places. Obviously TX is getting a lot of new residents, but I know ID is popular among Californians these days.

...and, of course, I'm moving back to Eastern WA in late spring after being here in the Bay Area since 2001... I'll miss living on the water. San Francisco is beautiful. Crazy, but really pretty and the weather is great -- in my neighborhood especially (yes, it varies WILDLY depending on where you are in the city). Crab fishing in Pacifica will be missed. Food is cool here. But Spokane and Hayden (by Coeur d'Alene) offer more for me -- lake cabin, outdoors, winter, space, a lack of nude people (and by people I mean men) in public, CCW, significantly cheaper cost of living, less "the man," blah blah blah... trade-offs...

Yup, you are right. I remember in the late '70s I visited some folks at Flathead Lake, Montana and they were complaining about the Californians that were buying the land around the lake.

I guess man has been moving from one place to another ever since our hairy ancestors made their way out of East Africa (or we were kicked out of Eden, whichever you prefer).
