Ahh, good to know. I've used Tula in .45 acp if I remember right. It must have been a bad bullet to tumble like you said. I don't think I've ever seen Tula to be loaded light, I'd say it's more consistent than most, even if it could be lighter. That said, I've never done a side-by-side test versus other ammo so it could all be in my head.

i've only had one squib load experience and it was with a 9mm wolf ammo. bullet did leave the barrel, but landed about 5ft away. all i heard was a poof and saw the bullet rolling on the floor. scared me a little and double checked to make sure there's no barrel obstruction. everybody has a bad product every now and then, right?

It's really noticeable if you run it back to back. A couple weeks ago, I went through a box of .45acp Tula and switched to WWB. The first shot of Winchester sort of made me pause; sort of shocked at how different the recoil felt.

Good cheap practice ammo, I run it all the time in my Glock. It does shoot sparks every few rounds or so ( a few inches from the muzzle), its fun to watch it at a dim indoor range.

I was shooting a Glock when shooting a Glock wasn't cool.

I have shot Tula thru my XD 45 and my P99 in 9mm, last time I went shooting though, I had a 9mm dud, it would not fire. One round out of about 300 fired is not bad though for the price, I also purchased them at Walmart.

I'm glad to see this post, I was at Walmat the other day and was asking the sales guy about Tula ammo and he said he would not load steel in his pistol, but after reading all this I think I will try some of the Tula 9mm in my PT92 this weekend.

                Thanks!!

^ ^ ^ If you're uneasy about running Tula or other cheap steel cased (usually Russian) ammo in your handguns, just buy 1 or 2 boxes, and then if they run great, you can stock up more later.

Also, in my experience, Tula .40 S&W and .45 ACP run like champs thru my Glock22C (.40), Glock 35 (.40), and Kimber 1911 (.45 ACP). I have full confidence in TulAmmo as range ammo, although I wouldn't opt to buy huge cases of them, unless I am going to train with almost all the rounds.

why would some ranges not allow steel?

do you know if On Target in south OC does?

If you mean steel ammo, as I understand, it is because of potential fires for outdoor ranges. Not sure of indoor range policy reasons, other than maybe it is hard on the backdrop catching the bullets.

If you mean steel cases.....I have no idea....that does not make sence!

So far I have only seen these mandates in Southern California though.

Ya, steel case, I thought I saw another thread about this.

Shoots just fine in my AR. In my Remmy 700 however, I had a casing get stuck. The bolt would rotate, but would not move from there. Had to use a rubber mallet to un-stick the bolt and then punch out the case out from the muzzle end with a cleaning rod.
