    What am I doing wrong?

So I finally got my part out of my pistol yesterday at the range.

I shot my first 5 string group of the size of about a quarter or nickel.
3 were hugging 4 was a flyer and the 5th was right back on. Only
problem is it was about 6" to the left and 6" low from where inwas
Aiming. I was blaming my flinching or grip for being low and left but
I doubt I could screw up and make a 1" group at 7 to 10 yards with my glock 17.

I did the polish job the other day on top of the 3.5 connector and the pull lbs didn't go down but the trigger defiantly got smoother.

But why is my glock shooting low left and how do I fix it?

My rear sight is already as far left of the slide as it can go so the previous owner probably had the same issue. So what can I do to fix it. Because it has to be the gun not me.

I didn't take pics I don't know why but I have 3 people for proof

I'm not complaining I'm super happy about that grouping with a glock
Especially in my hands but I blames my grip or trigger pull for the low left.
Now I know it's the gun. Unless I did the same exact mistakes 5 times in a row.

It's a glock 17. There's gotta be at least 3 dozen at the range when you're there, see if you can borrow one and shoot it better/different. That should be your answer right there.

But that's the thing I shoot all of them to the left. But how do you make a 5 shot 1" group making the same mistake?

I'm not complaining about the group I just want it to be in the middle.

before you shoot the gun, make sure you "PRESS CHECK" it a hundred times. it will shoot a lot better afterwards!

When I shoot Glocks, I really drive it straight with my support hand. I've even put grip tape on the contact areas where my support hand touches. The thumb especially, I use it to drive the gun straight.

So no matter what glock 17 you pick up, that isn't yours, you shoot low left at 7 yards?

Have you looked at this chart and adjusted?

No never seen that chart. Thank you.

Chart says trigger slap and tightening fingers..

And 90% of my focus is slowly squeezing the trigger. And im not quite sure what tightening fingers means. Tight grip?

And gorenut how do you straighten the gun more than lining up the sights. I don't tweak it to the side when I shoot. I make sure my sights are on and aligned. I think I'm not getting what your trying to say. Sorry

you can not use this chart as a reference. it's for strong hand bulls eye shooting intended.

Snuffer never mind I just tried it with my hands I think I understand it now. It means squeezing my out side left hand which is squeezing my right hand which then moves both left. If that's what I means I agree and think that could be it. Thank you!

That's awsome. Mods can we make that poster a sticky?!?

Slow down, watch your front sight. What I do with my girl friend is load a snap cap randomly in a Mag. You will really see what your doing that way.

Wait...you say it's not the gun, but you shoot every Glock low and to the left?

                        Is this your first handgun?

I wouldn't get too caught up on the chart. You're better off finding someone who can observe and see what you're doing wrong.

As far as what I mean.. I dunno what it is about Glocks.. but I need to put more pressure than normal with my support hand to make sure the Glock isn't moving during my trigger manipulation. I use my support hand to build a frame around the actual frame of the gun and use the thumb to push it almost towards the right - but really just putting enough pressure so the gun doesn't move towards the left during trigger manipulation. It works for me and I shoot Glocks straight with my sights almost in the middle.

Also, I think with the G17, some people are more affected by that "hump" in the grip because at least for me, it leaves a void below the webbing of my hand when I ride the gun high. That void can easily make the gun move during trigger manipulation.

Have you ask someone that is a decent shot to shoot your Glock and see if it's still the same results? Could be the way you're gripping the gun. Is the grouping and point of impact when you shoot the gun strong hand only rested on sand bag/bench???
