My bro-in-law has a Barretta 96 in INOX. Its an awesome looking gun, but I am not a fan of the sights, the weight, the grip width (I have small hands), and especially the DA/SA trigger.

I like my G17C just fine, so I vote for Glock.

You should really get some trigger time on DA/SA triggers to see if they are your cup of tea. Its the biggest potential deal breaker. I bet you can get used to it with practice though.

I consider it an advantage for the Glock that it has a consistent trigger pull, and short reset, plus I install a lighter connector which makes it easier for me to stay on target in semi-rapid fire. YMMV

I hate to vote against my Beretta, but I got a Glock 19 last week and after one trip to the range I already like it better. No DA/SA trigger or external safety to worry about (a BIG benefit if competing). The Glock's slide release is much lower-profile and my thumb doesn't accidentally press it down when firing. You can strip the Glock down to its bare frame in about 1 minute with one tool - versus the Beretta which is a nightmare if it needs a firing pin or trigger swap.

Glocks are beautiful pistols, elegantly simple, and probably better than most pistols in most respects.

I have an old 92fs, I love the look and it's been a very reliable gun. But I'm a horrible shot with it. So bad that I've decided to sell it to my friend who can shoot it better than he can shoot his other guns.

It all comes down to what fits you. Both pistols are great, but the one that you can shoot well is the obvious choice.

I've tried both pistols and this comment is 100% true. The majority of the guys use Glock. Between the two pistols, the Beretta is a nice handgun but I like having the Honda Civic of pistols in my collection (G22)

The Beretta is a very accurate close range weapon and the Glock just as much so as well. They are both equally reliable.

The real decision boils down to two things:
1) what do you shoot better with.
2) what kind of action/safety do you want. I prefer SA/DA and decockers, so I favor Sigs and Beretta—it's no coincidence that the overwhelming number of ADs/NDs nationwide in police departments are Glocks. If you are only going to use it in matches and controlled environments, then there is no difference. Like a dragster or go-cart isn't street safe. But if it's your every day carry HD, then I'd go for craftsmanship and safety: go Sig or Beretta or HK (if you like high-price plastic).

You pays your money and you takes your chance. Think about how you intend to use it and maybe that will help you see more clearly what you want.

I vote Beretta92fs. I have owned the 2nd gen Glock 17, and sold it off. I currently own the Beretta92f. I vote the Beretta92fs for all the reasons already stated.

That's a tough decision. I've shot a glock but never a 92fs so I guess its unfair for me to judge. But I'd say the trigger is going to be the most deciding factor. Try both

I want just a accurate range gun. One that I am not concerned if it gets dings and just loves to reliably eat ammo. I have held both and have shot a 19 (awesome) so I am guessing that the 17 is similar. I love the weight of the beretta but the glock is about a hundred bucks cheaper, price is not really a issue but a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. I already own a HK USP compact which is why I want the full size
