In honor of this thread I'm going to go to the range tonight and shoot a couple of mags of Tula out of my low serial # early Gen 1 G17 (round count about 30K) and then some more mags through my Gen 3 G26.

I've done this many times before, and the only thing I've noticed is the occasional spark out of the front of the barrel when shooting the steel cased stuff. I don't expect it will go kaboom, but I'll post if it does...
        Slow justice is no justice.

I was shooting a Glock when shooting a Glock wasn't cool.

Before we start blaming Glock - or for, say, Tula/Wolf for double charged ammo...

... this could well be the result of a squib load followed by another round.

The OP should confirm/deny this before another flurry of ASSumptions...

Every once in a while you run into a stress fracture, but is it extremely rare and not brand specific.

As for the "unscientific results", I wouldn't rely on YouTube for anything other than entertainment. Just one example, but most 1911 owners don't own a video camera or know how to find YouTube. It is a gun that appeals to a lot of the old timers. Not to mention marketshare plays a big role as well. If you have a billion of one brand in the market and only a thousand of the other, obviously you are going to see more kabooms with the brand that has a massively larger market share.
Did you really just say that there are more Glocks in the market, than 1911s?

As far as haters go, no offense meant, but personally after seeing many of your posts, it would seem to me that you are one of the biggest ones. Maybe you could change your name to GlockCity?

FYI 1911's don't necessarily appeal to old timers. I think they just appeal to people that like quality and craftsmanship. The difference is, when a 1911 blows up, it's still a 1911. When a Glock blows up...well.... =D

For instance, I see this pic and I think "Should have got a 1911!"

Do not post NSFW pictures again. It always ends badly!

im going to stick to collecting 1911's and leave you guys to your glock foo..

I do plan on maybe buying a glock one day.. but there are so many 1911's that i'd rather have.

next one on the list is a para warthog. so that if i ever do get my CCW, i will carry in style.

Let's see. I'm trying to be gentle now.
Fairly inexperienced shooter (I don't give a rat's *** if he's been shooting for years).
Didn't have the experience to recognize a squib.
Pulled the trigger on the next round with a bullet lodged in the barrel.
Gun went 'break', shooter yells 'hey it blew up'.

Darn, gotta blame something.....must be the glock, eerr, must be the ammo,,, dah,,, I got an awwee.

Show us the bulge in the barrel, inside and out or it didn't happen.

Suck it up or file the lawsuit. BW.......wwwaaa.,
Maybe CGF will pick up your costs and you'll get 10 new guns an a million bucks.
Bet you don't have the fuzz to call Glock and yell "lawsuit".

where are the pix??? i've used surplus or wolf steel-cased in any gun where i can get it. never had a problem - glocks are probably the least likely firearm to blow up -

GLOCK generally has a really good warranty policy, and since you were using factoring ammunition I bet they'll replace the pistol.

Squibs don't necessarily blow up a gun. Pictures to prove it:

Ok, I admit that I piled on the "hater theory" but it was obvious it did really happen. Just bustin balls waiting fir pics. As far as who's/what's at fault, really guys, there really is no chance we will ever know. Glock haters will blame the Glock, Glock owners will blame the ammo, Tula buying Glock owners blame the shooter, right?

That was on a pretty thick barreled S&W revolver, not to mention it being a revolver loses a bit of energy around the forcing cone. The semi auto barrels on today's handguns are fairly thin compared to a thick revolver barrel.
