People take personal offense if any possible flaw is mentioned about their brand of choice. Its the most remarkable thing. You'd swear you just insulted their mother.

Its even more remarkable when you consider that the same people are usually level headed logical people when it comes to every else.

Not angered, just find haters annoying. If you shoot crappy ammo and the gun blows up you can't blame it on the gun. 99.99% of the time if there is a kaboom it is ammo related and has nothing to do with the gun. Every once in a while you run into a stress fracture, but is it extremely rare and not brand specific.

As for the "unscientific results", I wouldn't rely on YouTube for anything other than entertainment. Just one example, but most 1911 owners don't own a video camera or know how to find YouTube. It is a gun that appeals to a lot of the old timers. Not to mention marketshare plays a big role as well. If you have a billion of one brand in the market and only a thousand of the other, obviously you are going to see more kabooms with the brand that has a massively larger market share.

Wow! sucks that your glock went kaplooooey.... Now I'm wondering how much longer my H&K USP will keep eating Tulas before it goes kaboom. So far its gobbled up 300 rounds of Tula.

OH Please- with an HK we don't worry about such things. My HK45 has thousands of rounds through it (all Wolf or Herters steel case) I have had a "stout" round or two in those several thousand. Double charge? Maybe? But my HK and I sailed right through it. USP is good, but if you get the opportunity to upgrade to the HK45 you may like it even more.

Im not a material science engineer but i can assure there are MANY more variables than just the mass of the pieces flying off.

Mass... You fail to take into account density and the velocity at which the pieces are moving. You also fail to take into account that if it had been made of metal that it might not have had pieces fly off. Again way more complicated than i cam even comprehend.

Just scratching the surface. Having said that dont get me wrong, i would not hesistate to shoot a glock unless it was severly negliated.

My question was more of a rethorical question than one looking for a scientific conclusion.

All I own are Glocks. I could care less if people talk bad about them or if they occasionally blow up, although there are usually contributing factors leading to the cause.

What I was saying was that I personally would rather have plastic flying around than metal for my own sake and for people around me.

Look, my buddy got his glock fixed up and we happily shoot it without fear. Another friend who introduced me to shooting has a glock, I spent many years envying him and coveting that firearm, so if you be huntin for haters your hunting in the wrong spot. Reporting events ≠ hating

I don't think it was the ammo, that Glock must have been ****ed up from the start because i saw hickok45s video shooting his Glock and he had around 30mags filled with Tula and his Glock didn't blow up.
