    1911's with rails???

My girlfriend really likes 1911's but for HD purposes she'd like a rail to attach a light. What are some of the better options? Price isn't that important.

actually you can find Sigs with rails for around 800 and no single shot conversion needed.

If you were considering adding an aftermarket rail to a 1911, I'd personally skip that and find one with an integrated rail on the frame from the factory.

I have a Kimber TLE/RL and a GSG 1911 with an aftermarket rail on it. The aftermarket rail hangs a little lower so the light switch is also lower, and at a weird angle for me to reach. Sure you can get used to it, but it's not natural feeling as with the integrated rail and the switch position on that frame.

Turner had the sig1911 for under 900 at one point...

If Price isn't important, I'd get a second hand Wilson CQB (railed) or a Nighthawk railed GRP.

I just picked up my Kimber Warrior II and pain 1299 for it. My HD requirement was a rail also. I shot the Warrior II and the Sprinfield MC operator ($1250 price tag). Well they had the warrior II in stock and the MC operaTOR WAS 6 MONTHS BACKORDERED. nEEDLESS TO SAY THEY WERE BOTH IDENTICAL AS FAR AS SHOOTING AND FEEL, so I went with the one I could pick up after ten days. Look at my post (Search warrior II) and you can see the accuracy. Love the gun.

There are quite a few Sig 1911's with rails that can be found under $900 regularly.

I went with a Springfield Professional with rail. Fantastic pistol.

If you must add a rail, Dawson is probably the way to go. If you're in the market for a new one, MC Operator is probably the best value ~$1000.

Get a Sig 1911 with a rail or a Kimber TLE/RL Custom II.

If you don't mind shelling out like $1,500.00, a TRP Operator is really nice.
