The CZ does have a similar feel to it, and while many people like the CZ, I never really liked the idea of a DA pistol without a decocker of some sort.
That is why they made the BD, which is on the roster. Because of that feature it is the perfect pistol, to me. It still does not feel as..........perfect..........as the BHP. Somehow they, whoever they is, got the balance just right.

      Yes. I do.
On the longevity side Glock has only been around for about 30 years. The CZ only a few more. The HP has been around for about 76 years now, more than double the CZ.

As far as durability, I would guess that a CZ and a HP are a match. Leave a Glock (or any other polymer pistol of your choice) in a car on a hot summer day. It WILL warp. So much for durable.

You know I just got mine in November. I've only put 200 rounds through her but I have to say that she is one of the nicest I own.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I was not aware of a decock version. I may have to look into one.

Big part of the HiPowers cost is that Browning sold them. FN made them and Browning marketed them in the US. Browning had to tack on their margin to FN's margin and then you have distributors, dealers, and shops getting their piece of the pie.

If FN had a stronger name in the civilian market here in the US, you'd see them at a lower price. They're marking inroads now with the FNP, FNX, etc., but they're fighting for name recognition with some heavy hitters. In the US, FN is simply not a strong name.

The FM's are nice. The FM90 is just a post licensing agreement version. The license with FN expired in 1989, but they still made the post 1989 pistols on the same equipment.

Buddy has one in .40 S&W on consignment. I didn't buy it from him since I am not tough enough to handle the occasional hammer-bite.

I am sure the M1935 would have a larger following than the M1911 if we issued the Hi-Power during WWII.

Historically, JMB STARTED designing it....then died. I don't know how far he got before it was finished by another. I'm sure he'd roll over in his grave if he saw that they now have magazine disconnects. While a great gun....I'd hardly say it's an improvement on the 1911 but rather something DIFFERENT. To each his own. I shoot mine every so often but my 1911's get most of the attention. I hate to say it but my Glock 17 gets shot more. It doesn't give me hammer bite (I don't care enough to have my hammer bobbed on the HP).

And for those that think HP's don't last....insurgents have been using world war era HP's against our troops in the war on terror. They've been found on dead ones and in weapon caches. It's safe to assume they have some staying power.

I was looking at one last year and ended up getting the cz-75b. the high power, in my hands, didnt feel as comfortable as the cz and was too expensive.

Thats bs and you know it. nylon-6 has a melting point for 400+ and softening at around 360 degrees... your dash would melt before that....
