        A couple of things:
        1) I can't think that any of the guns were loaded, but it does violate the rule of never pointing a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy, and that rule is preceded by the assumption that a gun is loaded.

        2) It may be that this allows more guns to be displayed.

        3) The biggest complaint, I have to cock my head to look at the gun in the orientation that I would prefer to look at the gun.

Maybe the OP can go back to the store and ask they their reasoning for pointing the guns at potential buyers. The stores I frequent don't do it.

Which way would you prefer the guns to be pointing in a display case like that? IT will be pointing at someone or something in ANY direction, unless pointed up or down, which would require a custom case made specifically for handguns. Not to mention customers who come in won't even be able to see the guns in detail through the glass case if they are stored this way. Worrying about which way the gun is pointed when it isn't in anybody's hands is unreasonable.

My Bang & Olufsen speakers rotate to keep the remote centered in the "sweet spot" as you move around the room.

Might be kinda fun to figure out how to make all the sidearms "track" a customer as they walk down the display case...

Good point. I rather be able to browse much easier if there were aimed side to side.

When's the last time you observed a gun sitting by itself fire.

A gun in a holster occasionally points at my foot, and it is loaded! OMG

The 4 rules operate under the assumption that a gun is either in your hand or in your immediate control. At the point that someone picks it up, the rules concern me greatly. The stores I frequent have employees who seem to have been conditioned since birth to perform a chamber check every time they take a gun from the case or wall. I've yet to hear of a single case where a gun sitting on a shelf fired itself or "just went off!" As such, I am unconcerned about how they are displayed.

There is a point where the scrupulous adherence to a rational "rule", in an unthinkingly rote fashion and devoid of context, becomes an irrational, debilitating fear. I suggest that this instance is one such case.

Man, you must freak out at a car dealership. Afterall, those unattended cars pointed in your direction may somehow run you over.

or have all the slides locked open and cylinders open like what ranges do on a cease fire. It would not bother me other than having to turn to look at them
