    XDm Upgrades

I'm thinking of doing a few things to my xd, now that I will have a nice chunk of change come the 28th.

I'm thinking of getting the small dot xs sights, and a compact light... Maybe the Insight x2, or the streamlight tlr3.

Does anyone have either of these combos on any xd pistol? Pictures?

If you have the lights on another pistol, whats your take on them?

    Thanks

I use to like the idea of buying lights/lasers for my guns but then i realized they ain't worth it. I rather spend that money on a trigger upgrade, sights, or extra mags.

If you like the lights, good for you, it's your gun not mine

That's a good looking light... I may look into that one a bit more.

Thanks for the replies people! Keep em coming!

Yeah, for awhile I wanted a laser/light combo, but all I need is a light. Being LEO, the tac light on my usp has been a great tool to have... The only problem with it, is the location of the activation switch.

I've noticed after a few hundred rounds, the lense on my TLR1S will get some carbon on it. It's a thin enough layer of carbon to just wipe off with a rag or your fingers in one swipe. The light still shined through nice and bright though.

I like the tlr1, but having the 3.8, it will stick out too far for my liking.

hey ironclash, does your sig suggest the xdm beat out the glock as your favorite?
if yes, do you have a thread saying why?
PM if you can so we won't thread jack

Cool...kinda in the same boat. I am looking for a light for my 4".

I would pick tlr3 just because it is LED, over the regular light bulb of the X2 (plus I have an X2 for my sub-compact already).

Oh, if it matters...it is known that the X2 does not fit 100% properly, on the larger frames.
They will attach to the larger frames, but are loose.
A small fix, is to put something in between the light and frame.
Here is insight's fit chart: http://www.insightlights.com/2009fitchart.pdf
You can see that most of them checked for the X2's are the sub/small pistols.

Here is the X2 on the 4", just slightly under the barrel length"

Nice. Thanks for posting this. This would put it just over the edge on the 3.8

Take a patch and spray some CLP on it. Wipe a thin layer on the lens before you go shooting with it. The carbon wipes off even easier.
