Here's mine. Yeah - I admit that the 'bling' factor attracted me to it. Initially I had trouble with the extractor. It was too tight. However, a quick online self-help video helped me adjust it properly, and ever since it's run like a champ. Accuracy wise I'm sure it's better than I can shoot it but it has the tiny military sights.

    "Two dead?!? HOW?!?"

I like it. If it was a Colt even more. Otherwise it is a beauty.

          Any Colt collectors in here?

Anyone here like the "EL" series? El Toro, El Soldado, El Embajador, El Senador, El Caballo de Oro, El Cabo.

I'll have to stop by next time I'm in your area. My local shop doesn't stock them ever.

That's a nice pair of guns btw.

I currently have two in the house, here's one:

Colt series 80, the stainless slide is a flat-top enhanced in .38 Super, the blued enhanced is a 9 x 23 - if you don't know about the 9 x 23, go here:

I've been a .38 Super fan for over 30 years, have had many go through my hands, and as much as I love the Super, the 9 x 23 has replaced it in my heart.

One of my on-going projects is the modification of a large frame Witness .45 to 9 x 23, but it may end up in my guns for sale thread at some point. I have too much work around the house, too many things I want to do with my girl to spend hours folling around with reinventing the wheel.

My other house Super is a Kimber pro-carry HD 4", that is a great carry gun and very accurate - I like the ramped barrel for running 9 x 23 through, which it does 100%.

Edit - if you go into my for sale thread there is a pic of a series 80 enhanced bright stainless that I sold to another CGN'er.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Well you have a buyer for this one. I am a 38 super fan but I am more of a fan of the 9x23. The best round ever invented. I am considering buying another 38 super series 80 and converting it to a 9x23. My current Colt 38 super sits unmodified in my safe. Why did you get a total new slide instead of just a barrel? Is it because the barrel on the 9x23 is ramped and the 38 super is not. I like you style.

There has been a lot of 1911's here, so I will try to post a pic of a different one. I have a Browning BDA (SIG P-220) in .38 super. There were about 800 of them imported.

Interested in the 9x23 upgrade. What would I need for my gun, I have a colt super?
Would a barrel change and spring be ok?
Will it work with my oem mags?

I have two Colt .38 Supers. One is the 1991A1 with park finish and Trijicon sights. I LOOOOOVE IT! I shot a hog with it in the head from 20 yards away. Something i would NOT recommend, but it did put it down. Lucky shot!

Did you guys know that the Auto Ordinance Thompson Sub Machine gun was once chambered in .38Super way back in the "golden age" years ('20's)???? It also had a bolt made out of bronze!!!! Talk about a rare dinosaur......

I have a colt series 70 government and it is a joy to shoot. Its accurate and nothing quite sounds like a .38 super. only downside is with the ammo ban I will have to actually learn to reload to afford to shoot the thing.
