Back to the first question. It is my favorite caliber and my favorite platform (1911). No future purchases since the round is hard to find locally and with the online ammo ban it is not going to be easy to find ammo.Comment

$23 each or for all? I like the corbon loading because it has a little more power than hot 9mm's many .38super loadings too loaded down.
I have 3x supers. A 1991a1 which seems kind of rare even though the matte finish seems kind of weird with a .38super gun. A standard enhanced series 80 blued. And a Firestorm (Llama) one of the last made it seems Llama went under in 2006.
Used to have the Taurus PT38s. The standard blue an ex friend had the pimp version. DA .38supers or supers not based on the 1911 are uncommon. And I can't think of a single guin chambered in .38super thats not also available in .45acp.
Then Sig Sauer P220 in .38super would be neat. I've nver seen in person the AMT DA backup in .38super either.
My best .38super ammo deal was 1000rds of Armscor for $6 per 50rds plus shipping. It was underpowered though. Shot it all up and gave away some.
Some guy has a .38super fan page thats under construction. I think theres a link from the .38super page on wikipedia.Comment

It was American Eagle stuff. $23 a box. The brass was silver and the tip is bronze looking. Very sexy cartridge lol.

Khram, the only 38 Supers outside the 1911 platform I know off the top of my head are the Sig in .38 Super and the EAA witness that looks like a CZ.
How does the COLT compare to the LLAMA?Last edited by FNH5-7; 01-06-2011, 2:52 PM.Originally posted by FalconLairI weep for my country and what it is becoming.Comment

Colt is just better build quality and fit and finish they both seem to work and shoot fine. .38supers I can think of are probably the American Derringer Corp derringers, EAA clones of the CZ75, various 1911 patterns, Sig Sauer P220, AMT DA backup, Taurus Pt38s. Supposedly the Mexican Mendoza SMG came in .38super and I can think of some prototype type guns maybe.
I've never seen the Fed American Eagle loadings come in a .38super jhp, neat. Some weird chamberings have come in American Eagle though including a run in 6.5carcano.Comment

I just picked this up about 3 weeks ago and have only been able to shoot it once. So far I'm liking it. Bargain Pawn is selling Armscor .38 Super for just under $20 / box.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

I got interested in the .38 Super after owning a .38 auto. I now own an RIA .38 super that is presently getting a 9mm barrel fitted to it so I'll be able to switch between the two chamberings. I like the .38 super a lot and I really like it in the RIA. Very accurate pistol!Comment
