Why was the single shot exemption originally even in part of the bill?

Not that I have a problem with it, just wondering what the antis were thinking with it.

"Loophole" has a bad connotation thanks to the antis. "Loophole" this, "loophole" that

Before the recent single shot craze, although not very popular and difficult, people used to have 1911's shipped in using the single shot exemption years ago. Valkyrie Arms was first to capitalize on it, others followed and went in as soon as they saw it was safe to do so.

My friend was trying to explain this "single shot" loophole to me the other day, but I didn't quite understand.
Can anyone fill me in on the basics on how this is carried out?

I believe the single shot must be more than 10 inches in length, long barrel is used. The magazine is either blocked out by an extended feed ramp or a single shot sled is used and the magazine release is blocked out.

ALL interchangeable parts. Nothing is permanent. Once you've drosed as single shot you can convert it back to single shot with your original parts.

Loophole - Term used by someone who is jealous because they, for whatever reason, cannot take advantage of the law. Used most often in terms of taxes by an individual complaining how some one who is rich gets to take advantage of a tax deduction or reduction but they cannot.

The term "loophole" as it relates to firearms is a term of art used by the media and anti's as shorthand to suggest general non-compliance with firearms law.

The fact that it has migrated into use by actual firearms owners is a shame, and ought not to be encouraged.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Actually, Valkyrie is quite late to the party. Other shops have been doing this for years. PRK was one of (if not "THE") frontrunners of this exemption. How do you think there were so many AR, AK, MAC, and UZI pistols before Valkyrie came along?

Don't really care. It's just a word. Complying with the law can also be an accurate description, yet you don't see that term being used by our lawmakers or the media. Funny that.

If you are for the single shot exemption, it is strict compliance with the law.
If you are against it, it's a loophole.

The OP was just fishing and everyone took the bait. I don't know why they let threads like this go on.

No Loophole. As said before just applying the law as it is written.
                                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
