My hands are average size (at least thats what I tell my old lady) but I have experimented with every combination of mainspring housing and trigger reach and grip size and find that I shoot the short msh, short trigger, slim grip 1911's the best. Must be the angle and position of my trigger finger when I pull. I also have better recoil control with that set up.

) and besides all of them, two of my favorite/most accurate for the low-cost factor 1911s have been a Smith & Wesson 1911PD which I got on sale a few years ago for $750 (the scandium model) and a Springfield 1911 GI model that I got for $550 (forged frame, and nice tight tolerances for the low cost).
