this morning i received a lovely phone call from one of the managers whose name now escapes me. she was sympathetic and wanted to keep this from being a problem. i got an order number and was told they would be shipped out no later than tomorrow. i am supposed to receive my free mags as of the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

Glad to hear that you're finally getting your mags! It's a shame that it had to come to this before they could ship them out to you. I got my mags about 8 weeks after I mailed out my rebate form.

i was told by the floor guy at smith and wesson that now it was taking 10-12 weeks to process rebates instead of the 8-10 :/

ah well. it has been rectified

I bought my M&P40 in Oct, and sure enough it took about 9 or 10 weeks to get my 2 mags.
Right on about the computer component rebates, my guess is they choose 1 out of every 4 deals to botch purposefully, hoping people don't follow up on them. Sometimes one phone call is all it takes man. Always make copies of rebate forms, upc symbols, and receipts for major rebates (laptops come to mind).

except i gave up and just ordered you new mags (44mags has them cheaper than anyone/everyone that i could.. then again i didnt look anywhere else) the day before they told you that they were finally shipping them.. if i had known it was going to take this friggin long i would have gone for the $50

Yes, they do use a third party to handle the rebate transaction. It took close to 3 mos for me to receive my rebate check for my M&P15. With Springfield, I got my rebate mags and mag holder in less than 2 wks.

Been waiting for two months on my $50 SW J-frame rebate. Anyone get theirs?
