Mine took about a month longer to arrive than they said it would. The capitalist economic model is fundamentally flawed. It is not self sustaining, and can only maintain itself with constant growth. Obviously infinite growth is impossible, so the question is not whether the economy will collapse, but when.
Get your guns, ammo, and food while the stores still stock them. Prepare yourself now, because when the meltdown comes it will be too late.Comment

I don't remember exactly how long it took for me to get my rebate when I bought my M&P back in April of this year but it was pretty much within the range of six to eight weeks. I just bought a J frame so I will be submitting another rebate soon. They were good for it last time. Check came in the mail and deposited without issue.Comment

im getting really frustrated. i sent in my original form in october. they never received it. so i did a resubmit, only i forgot to add my receipt. that got resent in november with the receipt. the website shows that i have had a valid submission since november 26th. i talked to the rebate guys the other day and according to them, they submitted everything over to smith and wesson as of december 15th. checking with smith and wesson, i got told this process takes 10-12 weeks, not 8-10 like their paperwork stated and so im looking at maybe getting these mags in february.
this kind of thing could be avoided by automating this system so that rebates are entered electronically instead of being handled by the postal system.

Is S&W managing this rebate in house? Or using a vendor? Most rebates are managed using vendors whose business is to manage rebates.

I believe they are utilizing a third party clearing house named "Milan" or "Milano"??? i believe... (not sure the name) but yep thats probably why the process takes a while.Comment

after talking to MPS (the rebate company) last week, im told that yes, they got my paperwork on nov. 26th and it was a valid submission. and that they sent my paperwork over to smith and wesson on dec. 15.
i got a number for smith and wesson and was told that my mags were likely to ship out on january 26th.
so i asked for a supervisor.
i left a voice mail with two different people and was uber frustrated as of the end of last week.
this morning i received a lovely phone call from one of the managers whose name now escapes me. she was sympathetic and wanted to keep this from being a problem. i got an order number and was told they would be shipped out no later than tomorrow. i am supposed to receive my free mags as of the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
that made this whole experience a lot better.
that being said, couldnt this whole rebate system be done online? i know some people dont use the internet and all, and the mail system should still be in place for them. but really? having to wait 6 weeks to see if they even got your order in the first place? having to rely on the us postal system? seems like a very backward system.Comment

Rebates are purposely made to be difficult, time consuming, and frustrating for the customer. It's supposed to make a juicy deal seem juicier, only if the customer is willing to go through the hassle of dealing with rebate companies and waiting the couple months it takes to get it processed. Most people don't even take part in rebates because of the hassle. Companies use this knowledge and offer rebates to help customers over the edge if they were still deciding whether or not to purchase.after talking to MPS (the rebate company) last week, im told that yes, they got my paperwork on nov. 26th and it was a valid submission. and that they sent my paperwork over to smith and wesson on dec. 15.

A lot of companies do this. Take a look at the computer component industry. If you're ever on Newegg, look at all of the rebates that the companies offer, and read the reviews and count how many complaints people have made for not receiving their rebate checks. It's common practice.Comment
