You, sir, are the poser. Who cares if it only shoots expensive ammo. I can afford it.eccvets.. nope..sorry.. the desert eagle is pathetic.. a poser gun.. it will only shoot expensive ammo and then only with moderate aplomb.. a good 44 mag revolver will make it look silly while digesting everything you put in the cylinders. It is also HUGE..sorry.. again.. a movie gun.. I guess it is alright if you show it more than shoot it.
Jamb, huh? My Desert Eagle doesnt jam. It actually really is dead accurate. One of, if not the most accurate semi-auto I own.
I reload, too. I don't really mind that much that it throws away brass. BFD. It's fun to shoot, and I like it, and thats all that matters. I could give a crap less that your revolver shoots loads my Desert Eagle can't. I have some very nice revolvers that I can shoot other stuff out of. Each gun has its purpose.tonelar.. if you reload then you are indeed a rare desert eagle owner.. I am sure that you wish it didn't throw away brass and that you had the choices that us revolver guys have..
Just cast 300 of the excellent LFN bullets in 250 grain that I am sure will shoot well in all my revolvers and carbines.. I know that no desert eagle owner will be shooting them
That's a shame. Mine shoots very well. I don't carry it in my pants, either. It sits in it's pelican case when I go to the range, and goes back inside when I'm done shooting it.Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

That convenient that he's right near the prison. The last time that I checked the Judge was considered a revolving cylinder shotgun. But hey maybe he'll be staying at the Chino Penitentiary and you can still visit. Or you could be a real friend and warn him to get it out of state.
Because too many have broken for too many owners, and when they do break they can be a PIA to get fixed. Other than that they're fine.im not too sure why taurus has a bad rep over all but i like them.

Uh, Bill-the-Cat, you're correct in that CA considers it an SBS.Hanko,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read on this forum that it is illegal to own a Taurus Judge in CA no matter whether you legally acquired it out of state or not. My understanding is that it is considered a short-barrelled shotgun (SBS) and cannot be owned or transferred in any way.
Perhaps you might want to notify your friend of this law before he finds himself in a sticky legal situation.
That said, I don't have a friend who owns a Taurus Judge, and I know no one who works on a dairy anywhere near Chino.
You may want to go back and read post #70.

I've had 2 Taurus revolvers. A 689 that was flawless. An 85UL that needed to be sent back to Taurus for repairs. It works now.
I have a Puma (Rossi) model 92 level action in 357 magnum. It never had any problems.
Go to Sigforum and read about the problems people had with milled slides with internal extractors, or the P238s that refuse to work. Go to Glocktalk and read about the problems people had with Glock 36. You'd think these 2 brands are the worst pieces of junk in the world if you go by internet talk.Comment

box-o-truth ended me wanting to carry a judge for CCW.....it did not stop me from wanting to get one and have fun with it at the range.
and make no mistake, there are plenty of Taurus Judges in CA...I don't have one, but i know people who do, and even when I tell them how bad it is for their health (or the health of their being able to own guns) they usually just shrug and say "whatever, i'm not going to get caught"......

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

Damn you... why'd you have to bring up the pt92. The bastardized version of the beretta 92fs, I wish beretta had never sold them that factory...
As far as the judge and personal defense goes... I'd say they have it covered pretty well.

It's interesting - most folks who do the "I won't get caught" figure they won't do anything overt and as a result, won't get caught. They don't consider the incidental events, the unforseen police contact that can occur. Someone tosses a rock through your window, slashes a car tire in the driveway, cops are called. Somehow the gun comes out - maybe the wife is at home alone, she doesn't know any better. Or a holster is left on a table and the cop notices and knows - heck, maybe the gun box is left out. One unforseen event leads to another.and make no mistake, there are plenty of Taurus Judges in CA...I don't have one, but i know people who do, and even when I tell them how bad it is for their health (or the health of their being able to own guns) they usually just shrug and say "whatever, i'm not going to get caught"......
Or they lend it to a friend saying "don't get caught". Maybe someone who has a Judge has a friend that get's in hot water, that friend says something to LE.GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment

Does it matter? If he has the ability to shoot the gong at 230 then that also means that the gun is at least accurate enough to do that. Most guns are capable of shooting better than their owners anyway. What do you mean my birth certificate expired?Comment
