Some good choices (non particular order):

          Glock 17 or 19
          Springfield XD9
          Ruger SR9
          Smith & Wesson M&P9

Glock 19, 1911 in 9mm (mine is Springfield Armory) or a Sig P6, all three great choices.

Go to a gun shop and handle a few. There should also be a range with a few pistols you can rent. Get whatever fits your hand or whatever you can shoot better. Stick with one of the known manufacturers and you should be good. You can always refinish the slide of any pistol. But if you must have a factory 2 tone gun, then check out: Kahr, SA XD, 1911, Ruger SR9..

You really need to feel one in your hand AND fire them at a range. Please consider that a firearm is an investment, not like buying a pair of shoes. Take your time, investigate, try out, test and evaluate.

                    Good luck.

Also a nice choice if the fit is right is the FNP9.

Usual big manufacturers. Glock, CZ, Sig, HK. Try them all. See what fits your hand and which shoots better for you. Can't go wrong with any. Might help to add what your intended purpose is. Some do some things slightly better than others.

Really depends what you want. (mostly 9mms)
For a single action, I would suggest:
                              1911 (.45 for 450ish from rock island, 9mm spring field 1kish)
converted SP-01 (650 for gun like 150 for conversion, do the research i'm not exact)
                              For double/single action with Safety:
                              SP-01 (650ish new 525ish used)
                              USP (725-650 used)
                              For DA/SA W decocker:
                              USP (725-650 used)
                              Sig (same as usp)
                              For Striker fired:
                              Walther P99 for something heavier
                              Glock for something lighter (450-550ish)
                              Kahr for something cheaper (??)
Sigma for cheaper then dirt (??)
Need Ammo Prices? Check the thread. If you have better prices and the link to the shop, let me know and I'll change things up. So far I only got pistol ammo~
