        Sig all the way.

I also had a chance to shoot a SA EMP 9mm and that was alot of fun

As others have stated go to a range I shoot some different guns and see how they work for you. What works for someone else might not be right for you. A good example is me and glocks. I know they are great guns but when I shoot for groups with them it patterns like a shotgun blast. I had a glock 17 that I tricked out with sights and lightened the trigger and I still shot it crappy. I sold it and bought a ruger p95 which I shoot much better. Good luck with whatever you decide. If you are a decent person and want to live a decent life, buy a Sig. If you are hopelessly broke, indifferent to the quality of things, and utterly fail in life, then I guess you could once in a life time settle for a cheaper Glock.

Are you for real or just trolling?

Most competitive shooters are indecent people who are hopeless broke and indifferent to the quality of things so they prefer Glocks over Sigs.

I really like my Glock 19. It's not 2-toned but it's a great gun. Reliable, accurate, don't need a gunsmith to change or repair any part on it because it's so simple to take apart and put back together, and downright good looking.

You really can't go wrong with any 9mm that you like. With a few exceptions they are all quality pistols nowdays. Everyone says one is better than the rest just because they like it best. If you try to get your question answered on the internet as to which pistol to get you are going to go crazy because most of the posts contradict eachother. Go with the one that is comfortable to you and that you get a good feeling about when you think about buying it. That will be the right 9mm for you.

Thanx for all the input. My price range is about $550 and i will go to the gun ranges and rent them out to see how they feel and shoot. My purpose for the gun is for home protection and also something i can target shoot to work out my aim.

That clears out Sig Sauer and H&K unless you find a good deal used. You can find Glocks for that if you look carefully. Be sure to try several out. But if you are not going with Sig Sauer because of the price, then I'd get a Glock--it's de-featured and cheaper in construction compared to a Sig but a damn fine pistol for the price. H&K's are over-priced for poly but good pistols nonetheless--P2000 is nice over USP. No experience with other lower-priced pistols.

home protection and also something i can target shoot
Glock will do what you want reliably and in your price range--add a light so you know who you are shooting at in the dark. Take the money you save over a Sig and buy a good small safe to keep it secure be quickly accessible in the bedroom.

A lot of good pistols can be had in the $550 range. It really depends on what you want. Polymer or steel frame, striker or hammer fired, manual safety or none, etc etc.. Hold a few and then rent and shoot whatever feels good in your hands.

I picked up a Sig CPO not too long ago for around that price. So Sigs are not out of the question if that is what you want. I prefer Glocks though.
